Concern over QPR midfielder ahead of crucial Stoke clash please log in to view this image please log in to view this image 04/05/2012 by David McIntyre Samba Diakite is struggling to be fit for QPRâs crucial match against Stoke. The midfielder, who missed the 6-1 drubbing at Chelsea, has been laid low by a virus and has not been able to return to full training this week. He will be assessed before Sundayâs game but on Friday morning it was looking unlikely that he will be available to face the Potters. His absence would be a major blow for Rangers, who desperately need a victory as they battle against relegation. âWeâre still waiting on Samba,â manager Mark Hughes confirmed. âHeâs had a virus that has knocked him for six a bit. Weâve been going easy on him and trying to build him up, so heâs just been doing light training.â
If he's out it's important to not play the same three as the Chelsea game, if indeed we play three at all. I'd like Traore to play there to add some mobility.
Sooooooo, -------------------Kenny-------------------- Onuoha---Ferdinand------Hill------Taiwo----- Mackie----Barton---------Derry-------Taarabt -------------Zamora--------Cisse------------ ????????? Would like to fit Traore in somewhere though ideally but can't find a place or, moreover, someone in this line up I'd be prepared to drop.
This is a massive blow although, if I could pick out a slight positive, it would be that it matters less against Stoke who tend to have less posession than most and always stick with a 4-4-2. More onus is on the centre backs to deal with Crouch and the industrious Walters while we have to have a cuttig edge ourselves.
I'm not ITK, but I wonder if this is "mind games".... I suspect he is fit and the whole team knows he is fit but this is a....." don't you worry about us...we are struggling with our own problems" bit of mind games chat. OKay....I am whistling in the wind, but perhaps it might be true?
Our fullbacks have to be taken off the leash for Sat. Might bring Traore on for Taiwo for last 30 mins.
If Onuaha and Taiwo are off the leash on saturday, they will be no use for the match on Sunday. Lets leash them up on saturday and release them like dogs of war on Sunday Yes it is a cunning plan
Not bad for a boff, Boff. Needs more oomph though. Something more like: 'Cry HAVOC and let slip the... ' I'll get my steed!
Tolkien was a R I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of the Rs fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered dreams, when the age of the Hoops comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good pitch called Loftus Road, I bid you stand, Men of the Sparky.
Inspirational speech for Joey? Look no further......
The cunning plan doesn't stop there. Harry Redknapp has actually been appointed England manager. But QPR, through their agent Paladini has bribed FA officials to announce Roy Hodgson as the new national manager in order to wrong foot Bolton, who will find they face West Brom with Roy firmly in the driver's seat.
Love this roller. If Churchill was delivering the speech: We will fight them in the media, we will fight them in the tunnel, we will fight them on the pitch, we will fight them in the air(important on Sunday), and we will NEVER NEVER surrender. Come on sparky and the boys, it's time to stand up and deliver. It's time to be counted. Let's be havin ya.
Never on the fields of Loftus Road and the Etihad, was so much expected by so many of so few... AND if we fail to get it sorted, that few will become even fewer!
We really did miss him in the last game... Hopefully he can recover by tomorrow. The midfield looked lost and had no penetration. No one was making any real decent runs. Cisse and Mackie weren't at their best, I don't know if this was Chelsea defending well or them just being of poor form. We really missed the Creativity of Diakate and Taraabt, and we're REALLY missing Faurlin.
