This is good news, & its a 4 year deal. So Warnock clearly expects him to form the basis of a solid defence, probably partnered by Lees. The Colin revolution starts here.
Best part of a 4 year deal is that we don't need to start worrying about contract talks for the next three years. I just prey he is as good as the interest from other clubs suggests and what I have read about him from Portsmouth fans.
So that gives us Pearce & a developing Lees as CBs. Hopefully Kisnorbo & Bromby will return in fine fettle & will act as solid & reliable back ups.... or will we see Gimple push for a bench warming spot? Just leaves LB, RB, CM, attacking midfield, & 2iC goalkeeper to sort out. Roll on Barcelona. Here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still think Warnock will keep Lees as back up for CB and RB, meaning he'll still be on the lookout for one more CB - Mills or Bamba maybe? Or someone like Clint Hill? Or I could be totally wrong
I will be optimistic when I'm given reason to be optimistic. This signing is a good start. £500k and a 4 year deal for a player like this, apparently he's very good, it's a very good start. Provided it's not a case of "you can have one of the toys you've asked for for Christmas". I'm still reserving my judgement.
4 back four next year: Lees Pearce Kisnorbo Taylor I expect to see another CB joining if we can move on AOB, if not he could well be back.
Good to hear, it was looking like another lost deal at the start of the week. At least Pearce is used to playing for skint clubs, run by ****ers. On other news, I reckon Snoddy and McCormack will not be signing the new contract offer at Leeds, so what do the club do?
