After 20 years of of some fantastic football and superb goals, a miss hit from Rooney's ****ing shin is the goal that wins the "20 seasons award" which sounds like something the FA just made up to continue their service to SAF... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/7727552/Goal-honour-for-Rooney
Loads of players score goals just like that Rooney goal and they never get mentioned again. Coates did it against QPR, which was more impressive as he is a defender and the box was packed. Crouch does it for fun.
Yeah it's a Fu***** joke; how it's better than Bergkamps, Henry's or Yeboahs or even Beckhams is beyond me!
Looking and reading the remarks on sky im not sure the people of that forum agree with the decision either... Let alone the people on here... Its all subjective but it still staggers me that anyone can remember every goal of the past 20 years...!!! So the more you see certain good goals the more they stick in the mind... Its just lemmings following what they see time and time again for me... Great goal by wazza but not the greatest...!!!
was this a sky poll... i'm not bothered looking but i am guessing this is just one more inane poll voted on by fans and of course the mancs all voted for their guy. if you told me 20 years of goal of the seasons were analysed by "experts" and they said that was best I'd just laugh
This is the point- no-one does. Unless something is memorable for you personally we all tend to remember the most recent things. In twenty years of the Prem there must be dozens of goals equal if not better than this. It's just another nothing award to make it look as though they're interested in what happens. Still, next time we have a trophy head-to-head with the mancs they can include that one one their list. Wait for some of them to start shouting "Rooney has scored the best ever Premiership goal -fact"
Hardly important guys. It wasnt the best goal even before this weeks super goal and it wasnt even the best United goal ( King v Sunderland? ) These awards are mostly for show, they dont mean anything. When players like Scott Parker win the annual version of these awards its at that point you think, hahahahahahahahahahaha, eh, what?
I don't think it was the best goal. Not because it was Rooney or United, but because I personally don't appreciate the 'one touch' goals as much as those that involve dribbles etc. like Maradona's against England, or Bergkamp's little flick round Dabisas. I always think, with these goals like Rooney's that are just a one touch thing, it could be anyone striking that ball to an extent. We've seen loads of relatively **** players score belters over the years. Not saying Rooney is ****, in fact his goal against Arsenal as a 16 year old is one of the best for me. Whereas, how many could do what Maradona or Bergkamp did?
Not really a conspiracy when it was proven that every other option was disabled while Nani's voting was accepted for another 7 hours.
Lol, its not important to most other fans, we dont need to try and get some silly justice for our players like your lot desperately did with Suarez. It could of been a surge or it could of just been normal fans voting who didnt realise the poll had closed, see if United fans were that petty we would of done it before the closing date of the poll. Of course that doesnt cut it in terms of crazy so perhaps the United fans knew sky would 'forget' to close the poll and thus had it all planned out. Dastardly mwhahahaha
The real conspiracy is how Suarez ever topped the poll. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, he was in no way the best player last season...........
I believe that time he shredded your defence and assisted Kuyt's goal was a moment which deserved to be recognised. I would say it was a toss up between Suarez, Van Persie and Silva. Obviously Arsenal and Man City fans didn't feel like voting.
Ha, he was ok but nothing special. And yes, that would be the exact reason LFC fans voted on mass ( not for the first time ) for one of these polls. You actually think it means something, it doesnt.
That and the fact you guys think he deserved some sort of justice for the evra thing. Its like a battle between good and evil for some of your fans. The courageous and honest Liverpool FC against Lord Ferg and his FA minions and demon spawn.
I voted for Suarez because he had shown skill, nothing to do with the Evra incident. Anyone recall anything Nani has done in the last year, other than sit crying on the floor about a little scratch on his leg?
