Bloody Hell! Cisse has all but said it was hit and hope. It came off spectacularly and that's the end of it. He didn't pick a spot. He didn't see Chech off his line. He didn't even plan how the shot should be shaped. fair play to the lad it was brilliant. But 'meant' as in calculated it certainly was not. End of!

Rooney was today awarded the best goal ever scored in the 20yrs since the prem started for his overhead kick against City.

Considering the 20th season isn't yet finished and their has been a few 'special' goals scored in the last week or so they have ****ed up imo by not giving them a chance to be included in the vote.

    5yrs ahead of us!

    <laugh>

If Spurs finish 4th you'll end up qualifying for a competition Carroll and Enrique qualified for a month ago.

Apparently Newcastle winning nothing and qualifying for the Europa league and getting ready to sell key players in the summer is 5 years ahead of us. I think you are confusing us with Wolves or someone if I'm honest.

What the **** is this nonsensical rubbish about "hit and hope" and "meaning it"? It's hardly a bloody tangible dichotomy...

Every single goal ever scored by a player involves hitting the ball and hoping it goes in(or not, in the case of own goals). So why discredit a goal on that basis? Some people obviously need a veil for their bitterness. Why not just make your **** clear like an honest human being?

Hands up anyone who has ever scored a wonderful goal (be it five a side, a kick-around with coats for goalposts, or otherwise)... Let's face it, everyone has. It involved hitting and hoping.

Whether a well executed chip you try and put in a specific place, whether a blast from half way, it all involves the key element of hoping it goes in. So **** off with that.

The reason these players are paid ludicrous amounts of money is because they have better technique and ability, ability that turns the "hit" into a "hope" more often realised than when you or I attempt it... So **** off with your discrediting, just admire the goals you idiot.

For me, Suarez's was brilliant, Crouch's was magnificent and Cisse's was unbelievable.

How about you actually read what has been said before coming out with stuff like that? NOBODY in this thread, regardless of the debate over whether or not he meant it, has said that his goal doesn't count or isn't very good because he might not have meant it.
What HAS been said, is that this might be something taken into account when trying to choose between the best goals at the end of the season. It won't be, and I expect Cisse's to win, but you'd assume it's one of the criteria.

The irony of a Liverpool fan imploring someone to read something... Especially as my post was directly aimed at previous posts which I have read and debated, nevermind the fact you have put allusions in my mouth that I have not suggested. I will let you read my post again at your own leisure, though I fully anticipate waiting another 12 years til you reach A-level English comprehension...

Erm, the bit in bold in your previous post that I quoted. That's the bit I responded to.
You asked 'why discredit a goal on that basis?' to which I replied that nobody was discrediting it.
How is it ironic that a Liverpool fan implores someone to read something? Are you just making up slurs now?
Also 'allusions that I have not suggested' - maybe it's you who needs to reach 'A-level English comprehension'. You don't 'suggest' an allusion, you make an allusion.

And while I'm here, a quick look at you post history tells me this is only your second post in this particular thread. So what's this rubbish about all these previous posts you've 'read and debated'?

How funny... For the sake of amusement, please read through the posts on this thread again. You'll see my point is valid and that your own conclusions are drawn from a misinterpretation of the text. Thanks for your "technical insight" on the use of language, it's always refreshing to have people on an internet blog critique your posts for literary subtleties!

Also, my "slur" was just in-keeping with blog themes. It's more a reflection on my boredom than a personal insult, so I wouldn't take it as such. It's not like I give a **** about school league tables or literacy ability in various counties, for all I know Liverpool could be doing very well!

I believe incest is next if we keep this convo going!

I think I already MADE allusions (hahaha) to that fact in my last post (in which I was deliberately taking the piss out of the social convention, of course some people will forever question whether I "meant it" or whether I simply "posted and hoped"!)...

I was just following the imposed system of punch, counter-punch in an effort to make my day go a little quicker at work... I like a bit of banter, but I genuinely admire you for carrying yourself with great respect, and in fairness you are relieving the tedium!

In that vain, your username is based on a right splitter of an individual, and I think it would waste time if we discussed this. Also, with respect to previous contemplations, if you think "meaning it" can be anything but based on a subjective construction of which shirt you support, should we even bother talking technical ability objectively, or indeed move to incorporate statistics such as goals per minute or value?

I mean, if we are talking about "meaning it", surely Suarez on about 10 goals is less likely to "mean something" than someone on 13 in 12? If Suarez "means" to score instead of "hitting and hoping", why aren't you then questioning why he's so lazy in not troubling the score-sheet more often?

    ???

If you've read my post and gathered the opinion that I'm so moronic I can't remember my own posts in the last half-hour, why not address me myself and take an ego-boost prize, rather than hiding behind a "yes-man" front? Never understood this. It's like the people at school who push others to fight, then enjoy from safety of the sidelines...

    Hahaha Thanks Word 2010...

I'm worried now that I have rendered your ability to debate null, as you are now either so concerned with betraying a lack of education that you will only ever pick holes with wot-eva eye rite ;), or else you're being sarcastic (which is not, by any means, the lowest form of wit (and I'm not being sarcastic in saying that... though querying that would take infinite time)...

your wrong...when asked Cisse said he was tired and just whacked the ball as he did not want it...on the other hand Crouch shot for goal and scored...there is no goal in this world that is not 'hit and hope' unless it is an open goal..as you do not know if the keeper will save it or not....i think it is unfair to take anything away from Crouch's goal as had there not been any magic from Cisse im sure your perception of the Crouch goal would have been slighlty more positive...however i would select cisse's goal as goal of the season...it just looked like a monster finish!
