-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manchester United legend Roy Keane doesn't believe he'll ever fix his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson. An interview with MUTV in which he was critical of some of his Manchester United team-mates was given as a reason for his departure after 12½ years. Asked if he could envisage a time when he would have a good relationship with the Scot again, Keane told The Sun: âI wouldnât have thought so, no. Heâs a busy man and Iâm fairly busy. âI said before I was disappointed the way I was treated at the end, nobody will change that. But that doesnât mean to say Iâm bitter and twisted towards Man United. Far from it. âThe worst thing is that when you have been associated with a club you still have loyalty towards it no matter what way I finished and no matter what my relationship with the manager might be. âI can go back there, I just wouldnât be comfortable so thatâs my choice.â On their spat, Keane said: âI just thought the young players needed to buck up their ideas. The boy Phil Jones was speaking before the Basel game saying, âIâve nothing to proveâ, and my attitude was every time you walk out on a football pitch youâve something to prove. âI understood where Ferguson was coming from. It was only natural he was going to come out and have a dig back because heâs going to defend his young player and heâs going to be upset after a defeat. âWhen thereâs snide comments coming in, I had a little dig back. Thatâs the end of that now. âBut you have to defend yourself when people are being critical of my managerial record. I said at the time he should remember the players who helped him get the record heâs got â Nicky Butt, those type of lads. âI remember the lads who did well for me at Sunderland and Ipswich.â
Love Keano to bits but outside of his football career hes nothing really. Fergie knows how to manage a club, he knows how to handle players, he handled Roy Keane after all. Keane can have his opinions on the team but perhaps in private would be better?
Handbags between two equal sized egos, those two would always clash no matter where you put them together, they are far too alike to get along. Taking sides in this is more than a little sad, they're two old ladies going at it
Keane's an even bigger tosspot than that BBF fellow. Both should learn to keep their mouths shut, no-one wants to hear their constant asshole attacks on SAF/United. The bitterness is strong in those two, must have something to do with living in SAF's shadow.
