Radio 5 Live reported that neither Cahill or Luiz trained today. Di Matteo apparently hopes that they will be fit for the CL final. Even more intriguingly, the same station also reports that Drogba will be a surprise guest on the Graham Norton Show tonight. Seems strange that he should appear on a late night chat show before the final?
Graham Norton isn't live. Its filmed on a Thursday evening. I think neither Cahill or Luiz will play tomorrow.
Cahill missing would be huge for us imo. Suarez will run rings around Terry, he's too slow to cope with him, and Luiz is just a joke as a defender - poor defensive positioning - which again, Suarez would love. I'd happy see Terry/Luiz starting, but not Cahil, at least he has a bit of pace on him and some defensive nouse.
I agree about Terry. Although since earlier in the season when Luiz was simply a complete joke of a defender, he seems to have made a miraculous recovery and actually looks a half decent player now.
Luiz simply hoofs it clear now instead of trying to play the ball out. Doesn't make him better at positioning though...which is what I think Suarez can capitalise on.
I think Suarez is able to capitalise on any defender on his day. But I still think Luiz has improved his all round game considerably over the last few months, even his positioning. Still nowhere near a £25mil (or however much he was) defender though!!
We dealt with Messi we'll deal with Suarez it'll be a very close game I imagine and can honestly see penalties
Their back 4 will probably be: Bosingwa (or Fereira) Ivanovic Terry Cole Both Luiz and Cahill have been confirmed as absent.
Didn't say it did, only that you'll be more open at the back than you were against Barca. So, theoretically, he'd have more space than you gave Messi. But if you defend well, it won't matter anyway.
You might have dealt with Messi, but they still created shed loads of chances across the two games, hit the woodwork a few times and only their lack of clinical finishing made them suffer. Your defense wasn't exactly water tight. We'll create chances no doubt, it's whether or not we'll capitalise on them since our defense has been a bit dodgy lately and Carra...well, no idea what type of game he'll play. I agree it'll be a close game though.
If you're talking about Spearing's Mannschaft then he was talking about Luiz, not all your defenders - no plural buddy. Luiz is one defender not four or however many you decide to have.
