If it's 7m, then lets just cough up and get on with it. No faffing about.

I like that rumour. £7mil and he could well be the signing of next season. 3-4-3 for all of next season?

    Sinclair Graham Dyer
    Sigurdsson Allen Britton Routledge/New signing
    Taylor Williams Rangel

I may or may not have smoked a joint.

Hoffenheim have stated they want 10 million and i have no doubt they'll get it so that puts us out of the equation.

I don't know mind. Huw has previously stated when we buy a player for X million, we pay all that in one go, up front, which is unlike a lot of other clubs who spread deals out in installments. On top of that, we always seem to include massive sell on clauses which has less of an impact for us because a) we won't still have installments on the same player to cover and b) we won't have paid a ridiculous transfer fee in the first place. Yes, we'll probably get stung for a mil or two more than we otherwise would given other teams interest, but for a player we know fits our system, is young and only likely to get better, I think 7 or 8 million is a very, very fair price for a goal scoring midfielder in today's market.

If Cisse went for £9 million, as good as Siggy is, he's not worth £10 million. £7 million would stretch us but is about the top end of right. The trouble is, clubs with cash to spend might bid over his true valuation; then we miss out.

If Hoffenheim have said they want 10 million for him (which seems to have been the figure for quite a while now) I can't see anyone bidding higher than that, surely? If it was Man City, maybe, but Arsenal? They're not in the habit of flashing the cash!

a player is only valued what a team is prepared to pay for him. we have offered a fair price at £4.5 million as that is what we value him at.....if someone will pay higher then thats their choice. his club holds all the cards and they will sell to the highest bidder.....our offer is a good offer but no way should we break the bank to get him as he is not worth the risk. he will be well marked next season for sure...

Ivor's on the money. Cisse is worth double was Siggy is, so I think a £6million bid will settle this and we'll have our man.

Dai, how is £4.5million fair? The guy is 22, and can play PL football with ease. He has to be worth what they paid for him, and more due to his on form appearances.

According to this, they want £8.2m.

    http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport...6/Swansea-ramp-bid-sign-Gylfi-Sigurdsson.html

I think that's probably based on a €10m price. A few people saying about not faffing about, but no-one else can bid for him yet because the transfer window isn't open. We are in a solo position because he's on loan to us.

Now if you think you were going to buy a house, would you offer the full asking price if you thought no-one else could bid for a few weeks???

I think £7m is about right and would draw a line at anything higher. Hope it happens.

sorry Dai ....Siggy holds a lot of cards here not just Hoffenheim. They will not risk not selling him and keeping a really unhappy player on their books who will not play for them and just come back to us on loan next year. Granted, they will not let him go cheap, but the final decision on if Siggy goes to club A or B is down to Siggy.
This bid, wether speculative or not... has shown Siggy we are serious in our intentions in keeping him. He likes it here, he likes playing for the manager and we like to get our business rapped up early (and this worked in our favour last year). A bird in the hand etc .... has any other club actually entered this bidding war, no! Even though he is on loan and the window hasn't opened, other clubs can still agree a figure with Hoffenheim... he just can't sign until the window opens.
I agree that £10 mill is too much and Hoffenheim will play a very risky game holding out for that. I am hopefull that 7 mill or therabouts will do the business.

So you are saying he is a slave to Hoffenheim? Your having a laugh mate!

It's business. If Siggy stays with Hoffenheim, he goes back out on loan, his contract by next year will be in it's last year, he demands a transfer request and that get a fraction next year.

If Hoffenheim get greedy I suspect we will see him here next year ... on loan
