Good Morning All, and happy Star Wars Day Warnock plans to keep Snodds at the club at least until Christmas, even if he does not sign a new contract. He went on to say that no deadline has been set for him to resign....Thoughts? Pearce WILL sign today, according to the YEP, AT THE COST OF £500,000.... How much does Warnock realistically have to spend to put a squad together that will be looking at automatic promotion? Bromby has gone under the knife today. I'm sure we all miss him well, and a speedy recovery. Do we ever expect to see him play for us again? Brown is mulling over his options for next season. Warnocck said "Financially it wasn`t possible to offer him anywhere near what he was on so we have offered him an extremely reduced contract for next season". Thoughts? Anybody getting up to mischief over the bank holiday weekend?
Morning - I hate Bank Holiday weekends as I always take Mondays off so having to share it with the rest of the UK pisses me off, nice to have Mondays off while the majority are working After Pearce I have a strong feeling we shall see Diouf arrive then maybe another out of contract player or a Derry/Hill arriving. Outward I don't expect anything until July because the players we have up for sale are not going anywhere fast, why would someone come in and lets say offer Connolly a contract at £8k a week then not be able to use him till pre-season starts? Would potentially cost his new club an extra £65,000 in wages, for the same reason I am quite surprised we are allowed to bring pearce in before the window opens. Brown I am half hoping he doesn't sign, I am of the opinion we were nowhere near good enough to get promoted so I don't really care who leaves, I just hope whoever comes in gives it there all and puts in a performance better than the guy he replaced.
Morning Ristac, you get Mondays off.... Can't make up my mind about Brown, certainly not worth big money
Morning Elland, morning those joining. ....Snoddy to resign??? Bates out, sack the board!!! Or did you mean Snoddy to re-sign?? Hopefully, we'll get a hint or two about other targets as well. I'd like to keep Brown. Like that chap from Coventry, he does his job quietly & to reasonable effect. If he doesn't sign an extension, we will need a permanent replacement. Not sure Derry's the right answer, but I could be wrong. Quiet weekend ahead for me. Last weekend run of the season, back to Monday nights. Yuck. But at least I can look forward to trying to bid for Leeds Charlton ticket in due course. My late father in law would be most impressed. GRHS
Norway, have to disagree mate. What he does is unglamourous & unsung. Without him & his like, opposition teams would waltz through the heart of our midfield & put even more pressure on our back 4 than is already the case. Comentators on Yorkshire radio & plenty on here have said that on more than one occasion last season, he was our player of the match. Its only his age that stops Warnock offering him an extension of more than one year. If he doesn't re-sign, Warnock will have to earn his money to find a suitable successor who could be with the club for a good few seasons.
Brown deserves a new contract in my opinion been our only shining light over the last few months, The forest game he was the fittest player on the pitch and he does look after himself
Morning all Have a long day of meetings so the long weekend should be a nice break after that! Hoping that by the time I am done with all of this Pearce signing will have been announced too... As for Brown, I think he's a really useful player to have in the squad, but I can understand Warnocks stance if he's on a lot of money. He isn't really going to be playing week in week out, and it seems like NW is being really careful where the money is going. Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come!
For a 35 year old - you cant argue that hes been class since warnock has been here! But if its all down to money to play a game of football every week, then i'd let him go! Warnock said he wanted players who wouldnt hesitate in coming! Yes money talks but so does there CV and there has been far 2 many footballers who have come here to use us as a stepping stone to gain abit more publicity!
Boggers I think he can manage at least 35 games at this level hes a class act and holds the ball up brilliantly and if he has better options to lay it off to he will look even better
Jacob butterfield was another I would take but seems hes going to the prem (newcastle) if leeds had taken notice of me in January we couldve got him for a million even after brown crocked him
