Has anyone on here ever been watching a game and wondered why on earth you are watching overpaid tossers trying to get a ball thru bits of wood and into a net. Basically has anyone ever questioned the rationality of watching a silly game. It's well known that in schools its the bottom and remedial classes that are full of football fans and the more intelligent ignore the game completely. So are football supporters morons?

I dont know what I'm more offended by, beardsleys cock and balls....or his face!!!!! When things arnt going well on the football front i try to convince myself that football is absurd and is not important. Then why is it, despite getting married in 3 weeks, and having a baby on the way, that the worry that Newcastle might get into the champions league is the thing that is keeping me awake at night!! haha!
In answer to NMG both myself (with GCEs) and both my my sons(1 with GCSEs and 1 with an honours dergree just happen to watch SAFC which makes your post specious at best and useless at worst
still do you ever feel you are being totally irrational? jumbo sort of knows there are higher things to think about but can't stop himself worrying about sunderland, perhaps that is how i should have angled the original post
I can take my wife to the ballet or the opera after watching football but still have time for other things as well, like doing the Times crossword
