Hold up! Grayson was sacked on the 31st of january after getting beaten by birmingham - But lets not forget he had the smallest (zac thompson) player on the pitch marking the tallest player in english footballer marking him at corners! He didnt just get the sack for his stupid 300 loans he made at the club he was getting out of his depth! Nailing secretaries -living out of hotels - loaning barry Bannan for 500k - jake livermore for 250K and keeping them on the bench! - Failing to make subs until the last 10 minutes of games - singling out 4 players that wouldnt play for leeds again (then went back on his word) then clearly proving the player was our very own dreadful Paul Connolly. Then you have warnock thats had to pick up this set of tripe and get something out of them! Then you have the greedy bastards that produced this sack of **** all season and expect to be high end earners because they think we owe them!
And where have these numbers about Barry Bannan and Jake Livermore come from? I find it hard to believe we pay this much for loan signings, it would be stupid. Then again there's no commitment to it, which tends to be the theme. All I've seen in your post is blame shifting and forgetting where the real problem is.
YOU are missing the point on this one, Bates has a lot of faults but the decision on Clayton is with Warnock Warnock obviously feels he can get better value for money on this one...
We all know sir kenneth is an anus! along with penfold! But lets not forget we expect better and thats what i think warnock will do! He's picked up a kid for 500k who is a top class centre back. Grayson would have gone straight to the prem and picked off another Andy Obrien type of player! (Lets not forget he didnt handle obrien very well neither) But as ristac said the decision is with warnock for clayts - and i agree with it
It's one of two things: It's either Warnock's decision, he's playing a risky game and hopefully the transfer listing will scare Clayton ( or his agents ) into dropping their demands. Or it's what I expect, the contract negotiations have gone a little differently to "this is what we're prepared to offer you, be grateful as it's more than you're worth for running around a pitch for 90 minutes, that's money that could be spent building a bigger Yacht, someone's got to sit on their ass doing nothing for millions! It's what I deserve for my genius" and the player signing, so bates has thrown a temper tantrum and said "well he wouldn't sign so we're selling him" - Warnock has to tow the company line to an extent as he's missed his get out clause. People other than me have noticed differences in the way he's talked about transfer and whatnot since the deadline for his get out clause passed. I honestly am having doubts about whether or not he'll walk, I think he's stubborn enough to take on the challenge no matter what odds he's facing.
Which kid have you picked up for £500k? If you are talking about Pearce, I can't see the Portsmouth administrators turning down bids of £1.2M from Burnley and £1.5M from Ipswich so they can sell him to Leeds for £500k!!
MarkLUFC you are letting yourself down mate by continuing with this, nobody hates Bates more than me but every piece of news and evidence clearly states that Warnock feels that Clayton is a bit of a lazy player and needs to prove he is worth the contract he desires. You are allowing the Bates hatred to blind you, YES the guy is a money grabbing bastard but the Clayton decision is all Warnock
Done deal http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120504/pearce-becomes-signing-number-one_2247585_2759594 Leeds were the only ones with an offer to pay up front.
Because the same problem we've had for several seasons has become a problem less than a week after the season finished - one of our arguably better players has gone into contract talks and come out the other end with a transfer listing and a response of "he was asking for more than he's worth", which is only as much as an arguably much ****ter player, who is only on so much because it was a desperation signing caused by THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM last season. So the same problem we see every season regarding our better players has shown up within a week of the end of the season and yet it's Warnock's decision. Was it Grayson's decision that Gradel wasn't worth his demands too? The way you all talk about Warnock it seems you've already been sucked into the idea that Grayson was the one and only reason for our stagnation. Some people have short memories. Very, very short memories.
Marko, have a read at this. I think you're way off the mark re. Clayton. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....719?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Wrong, we paid the entire fee up front, which was £500k including his remaining wages at Pompey etc.
I think you're starting to believe club propaganda. Why exactly is Clayton not worth what Danny Pugh's on? Why do we need to sell him to bring others in?
Well undisclosed yes and I guess we are assuming £500k because that is the figure various sources have been touting
No fella. The fee is 500k and that is it! they need the money and weve given them it all for the administrators. Ipswich went in for him in january along with joel ward but fell through. Warnock acted quickly and sorted the deal straight out!
