The only person who can save Nick is Nick. He can't be best mates with the players, he needs to be their manager. He cant afford to throw his teddies out in arguments with the owners of the club, any club. If he wants to manage he needs to make what can be quite a hard transition from shop floor to management. Management isn't just collecting some certificates then cracking on with it as one of the boys.
I'm not sure I want to fight to try and save nick. Yeah one of our own and all that but he was too stubborn with tactics that wasn't working, playing the same in the first minute and the last regardless if the score. He has gone, I'm sure it's going to be like phil brown where people can't get over him being gone and worship him for years after. If he came back then good, he can buy HIS players and hopefully that will improve his system. If he doesn't, a change is welcomed from me.
I fear you won't have much success: http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-16000474-detail/story.html?
Unless you're taking the piss, I already have ("Next Manager poll"). [Edit: The thing is, many of these threads are so similar]
I agree. If the Allams do dismiss him, they're not going to change their mind because of a petition. And would NB ever want to work for them again anyway?
I pretty much agree with that. I'm sure Barmby has the potential to become a good manager if he learns from his mistakes, but the way some people are going on you'd think we were sacking Mourinho. The only reason I'm actually bothered about what's going on is the way they're doing it, and pressuring them to keep Barmby isn't the way to fix things. Making sure they don't do it with other people I'd support, but trying to pressure them into working when they don't like each other is just asking for trouble to happen at any time. They're not going to be happy being asked for money by Barmby if they feel they've been forced to keep him when they don't want him, and Barmby isn't going to like being told no everytime when he knows they don't want him, so how long before one or other of them had another paddy and unsettled the squad again?
If my employer treated me like that I wouldn't come back and work for them. Somebody showed me this forum last week and am surprised how many fans on here are backing the owners when Pearson and Nicky have not been given a chance to speak. Money talks to much in football, the people running the club think they have carte blanche to do whatever they want because they put the money in but if they were doing the job properly then we would have a team full of expensive players now instead of a team without a manager and an unsettled squad.
Agreed. There's alot who think it's futile doing all this petition lark. It won't achieve anything. If City weren't winning games under Barmby, nobody would have been singing "he's one of our own" and more and more would be backing the owners' decision. I still think the majority want the other side of the story. There's obviously friction between the Allams, Barmby and Pearson and this wouldn't help the club.
Makes you wonder why anybody works for the likes of Ken Bates or Milan Mandaric. That's my fear, if the Allams turn out like them.
Why is everyone letting their hearts rule their heads. If what the owners are saying is true and i tend to believe people who stick 40 odd million into a club thats struggling financially, then Barmby is not capable of running the club. Its not like running a sunday league club "we cant have anymore players, one legged Steve hasn't had much pitch time n i don't want to upset him" We need someone with authority not someone who's mates with them and wont admit when he's wrong.
