I met a blue Scouser who was trying to convince that Everton were the Catholic club in Liverpool. Have heard a million arguments to the contrary. **** knows.

as a liverpool fan and irishman i can tell you Everton were the catholic side in liverpool but if you know goodison you will know there is a protestant church on the corner and the vicar is officially employed by everton to say prayers on matchday with the team, they're now a prod team.

There are no catholic football teams in England above Sunday league level. There are a few in Scotland but then it did suffer a greater concentration of immigrants.

Celtic was founded by a Catholic monk and supported mainly by Catholics. Not sure how many of us ever go to church though <whistle>

no liverpool were formed by prods the owners of anfield who ****ed everton out over rent, but in 1913 when the irish sent they're kids to liverpool due to the strike and lockout liverpool became the team of choice for those irish to support. the club went on to have one of the strongest irish links of any english club

Well it depends on how you see the question, when I was referring to Everton as the Catholic club I was referring to them being the team that the Irish Catholic community in Liverpool tended to support, obviously they are not being run by the Catholic church. The same could be said for Celtic.
