More excellent replies over night. Thanks to all who have responded.

Can anyone think of a really good phrase or term for our overseas supporters? I don’t like the phrase “long distance fans”.

Do you reckon it was Cerny not understanding why he was left out of this that let to his hissy fit? If so good work sir.

Having looked up Diaspora (!) it isn't accurate. Norway, New York, Finn and Igor were all born in the country in which they reside (I don't think I've forgotten anyone else there, but apologise if I have).

As for Cerny, he didn't seem happy with being left out, nor my not wanting his opinion on this matter. Maybe he didn't spot the link as quickly as you.

Balls I thought that was quite good. I'll try and find something equally obscure, but accurate!

    Hoops abroad is a possible.

Cheers Peru, you are another who was born abroad (I'm sure you are still aware of this!), sorry to have missed you off the list above.

"Hoops Abroad" sounds very Good Peruvian. It covers those born in England and those who were born abroad under the one umbrella of the Hoops.

It was very good mate, just inaccurate. Now you know me well enough to know that I want accurate as well as good.

Please try again, clearly your vocabulary isn't lacking.

Personally, prefer "Hoops Overseas" - "Hoops Abroad" does sounds a bit like they're on holiday

Working on alliteration, but the best I can do is World Wide Wangers, which makes me the equivalent of a Sun sub editor.......must try harder

International Hoops sounds good. Actually both do.

Nuts, if I send you all the replies could you write the whole piece for me?
