Since I can't be arsed to find the real Formula One page, and I know there are a bunch of F1 fans on here (at the very least, AbsolutelyGlorious, Lewis Hamilton and myself), I thought it might be cool to have a Newcastle United not606 Formula One Club, or Nunfoc for short (cue hilarious nun-****ing puns?), as it would be much more entertaining then COD/Fifa etc threads or anything by RIP Barton's Tash.

To kick off, has everybody seen the trailer for the Senna Movie (out on June 3rd)? Andrew Benson has written an interesting blog about it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/andrewbenson/2011/04/senna_immortalised_in_new_movi.html Unfortunately, I was just a toddler when Ayrton died; my first memory of F1 was Ralf Schumacher in a Jordan. Much like smart price chocolate, he always flattered to deceive he was as good as his higher-rent brother Michael 'Dairy Milk' Schumacher, but really, everybody regretted it in hindsight.

Anyway, I digress. I'm going to have to miss the Senna films for A Levels or some stupid **** like that. Damn future, who needs it?

I think I posted the Senna trailer yesterday, might've PM'd it to GRB though.

I was 4 when he died, I have vague memories of it but didn't really understand it at the time. I was a Ferrari fan when I a young'un, back when Berger and Alesi. My earliest memories are of Alesi pounding round in pouring rain on slicks. :)

I'd rather have that memory than Ralf Smartprice. I was also a Ferrari fan in my younger, glory seeking days. I regret that now... David 'I sharpen the corners of my jaw' Coulthard (I should probably assigning random nicknames... Ralf Smartprice is staying though) and Mika Hakkinen were more fun than borefest Schumi, although Barrichello is a great guy.

Really not an F1 fan. If the races were shorter (15 laps) I'd enjoy it more.

The reason I stopped supporting Ferrari was because of the way they treated Rubens; the 2002 French GP was the final straw for me, when they left him on the jack on the start grid, because he was only one of two drivers (the other being Montoya) who could mathematically deprive Schumacher of the title at that race. I'd grown to like Raikkonen during his Sauber days so I began supporting just him from then on.

I don't like that analogy, have you ever tried the 28p smart price chocolate?
It's like a cheap version of Milka - really creamy with a hint of hazelnut!
Also I'd consider Schumacher to be a bit posher than Dairy Milk, how about Lindt?

Anyway I'm a casual fan of the F1, although I never get a chance to watch it as much as I'd like.

Mike Hawthorne (1958), Graham Hill (1962, 1968), John Surtees 1964) are my favourite F1 drivers.

From an era when the driver had a bit more to do that just steer.

Oooo yeah, F1 fan here too! Might sounds weird but I've got a soft spot for Force India... the accounting firm I work for does the Force India audit and I managed to get myself on the team last year :)

I'll show my age badly now and say I was [and still am] in awe of Senna from when I followed him in his Prost/Mansel
days which began with Andretti/Piquet/Lauda etc etc. There was always something very special when Senna raced
and I WAS SHATTERED WHEN I watched him slam into the armco at the Tamburello - I just watched my hero die live
    on the telly....

I lost interest in the Shumacher Ferrari years and have only picked up again following the McLaren team with Button
and Hamilton. I must confess, I really quite disliked Hamilton before Button joined last season but have found respect
and liking for him from him taking to Jenson so well - I believe both drivers there are getting so much from being team
mates - I see Hamilton maturing and Jenson is just so chilled - IF I had a favourite it's be JB.

    I'm impressed by the RedBull steamroller but can't help feeling duped with the flexy front wing and altered nose hight;
the video clips don't lie and the Vettel uncontrolled sideways slam into JB is down to some very dodgy aero. In truth,
whilst RedBull are effectively a mutated Jaguar/Stewart I would rather root for the new chilled Ron McLaren team every
time - just hope they all keep it close this season - last year was a bit disappointing in it's climax and I really can't take
to dummy out the pram Fernando [furnandoo is faster than yaw] Alonso.

That sais, I can't abide the usual my driver is better than your driver routine of the usual forums so a step back into
happier more reasurring parts here in the NUFC forum is fine by me!!

Hamilton 2011 Champ will Jenson half a point behind? Or maybe the other way around. Failing that Webber!!

Better off going to Spa then Silverstone, flights from Newcastle to Bruge are cheaper than petrol money, and the seats themselves are cheaper. But beware; apparently the seats at Eau Rouge are the most expensive, but Kimi Raikkonen said it's like a straight road in an F1 car... when was the last overtake at Eau Rouge?

Yeah, I reckon Eau Rouge must be immense to drive and experience from inside the car but as spectators there's no room for "action" (read overtaking) there... although was it coming out of Eau Rouge and down the straight that Haikkinen (spelt wrong, I know!) put that brilliant move over Schumacher?

    Edit: this one

Belgian GP is my favourite at the minute, closely followed by Monaco. Used to like Canada too before they scrapped it.

Bloody loud like, but yeah suppose was a good experience.

Red Bull seem to be the team working hardest to move on. Gave the other teams a massive start but catching up fast.

Never liked Fernando ( spoiled brat ) Alonso. Thinks the world revolves around himself.

Watched the Formula 1 Killer Years the other night on BBC iplayer, I still remember Lauda's car on fire with him in it, James Hunt winning the championship, sat up to watch Damon win his championship in Japan, I have always enjoyed F1 even through the duller moments and fingers crossed that this season Jenson and Lewis get after the Red Bulls.
