Top of the page, click control panel, on list on left there is edit avatar, click there. Have you got correct setting on 'do not use avatar'? I.e do not select/ deselect. Rest of it is just pasting in the image. Hope this helps.
I couldn’t possible say that greatest song of all time, but my most played at the moment would be a live version of The Cinema Show by Genesis at the Rainbow in 1973 when Phil Collins was just the drummer and Genesis were still a rock band. Other favourites would be virtually anything by the Counting Crows, standard playlist would include Round Here, Goodnight Elizabeth, Murder of One, Colourblind......the list is almost endless. Deep Purple have had a number of mentions, I’d go for early live stuff like Wring that Neck or Mandrake Root. Led Zep, how about No Quarter?
Its true that i cant always say an absolutely sure whats my favourite song or band is. Its variates with my moods and state of my beerdrinkin When i feel down this masterpiece is best music in the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CLFapGhCr2M
Cheers SB. Much appreciated. Just seen your Joe Strummer quote. Another of my all time top 5 bands would be The Clash. One of the only punk bands to have stood the test of time.
You have no idea how much my kids will laugh when I tell them some technology advice I gave actually worked! The Clash were formative for me as a person, saw them half a dozen times as a 15 - 16 year old in 76-77 and it clicked - don't put up with crap. And now I find myself supporting a team with Hulse in the squad. This is the ten year anniversary of Strummers death so I am having a year of remembrance - my avatar is his Stummerville Foundation logo.
Metal? is there a better record 1973 ... crank it up Tres Hombres
Posting way too much on this thread, but I have always wanted an outfit like the lads are wearing here.....Contains the line 'she likes cocaine and hanging out with great danes' for many years I 'misheard' the chorus as 'it's gone beyond depression', which I still feel is superior. Another great song from the great band. Mind you it wasn't metal. More of a bluesrock like texas rock.
Someone lent me his autobiography a couple of years ago and I was surprised to see he grew up just near me in Warlingham. Had always assumed they were all West London lads. Probably due to all the refrerences like 'white man in the hammersmith palais' etc. Was also surprised he was such good mates with Damien Hirst. I still often listen to Sandinista and Give em enough rope which are probably my favourite two albums.
Now is there a better song....? A real southernrock classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CLFapGhCr2M
Frank Beard, ZZ Top's drummer without a beard... This track is the mutt's nuts...
SB, I know that despite your claims to be a punk that you are a closet early Genesis fan. Did you ever hear the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by "Genesis Rewired"? They have recorded the whole album but with all the wrong instruments, strings, trumpets, accordion, etc.... all quite strangely compelling.
Outed! Sounds like something I should track down, but to be honest could never sit through the entire original - I was in mid shift in taste when it came out........to re establish some credibility, another of my heroes below. And I won't bore everyone with my taste on this thread anymore
