#Rooney's spectacular overhead kick against Manchester City has been voted the greatest goal in the history of the Premier League. #mufc

well deserved, that's the best ever goal i've seen a United player score at Old Trafford.

Seriously? He ****in shinned the thing, if he connected with it like he intended it was only ever going into row z.
How that beat Bergkamps I will never know ....... oh wait I do, its the disproportionatly large amount of Man U fans who voted for it on club loyalty terms, not quality of goal terms.

It was indeed but I would still wonder as to the actual quality as Im not sure as of his intentions with the shot. He definitely hit for goal but *whisper it* i think he was going for top left

Henry's goal against United was better than rooney's pot luck kick.

Last nights goal was also better.

It certainly wasnt a cross, he is a pro footballer, he sliced that ball so much I doubt it was an accident, maybe he waasn't aiming for exactly that spot but you can see he was having a go alright.

I mean, Rooney shinned his, he meant to kick it but shinned it so where it ended up was pure luck

I agree with some of what you have said. Rooneys goals was a beauty ( United biased perhaps ) but there have been goals this season and over the last 20 years that have been as good and in many cases better.

Cisse's last night however, the second goal. Best of the lot imo.

whether he meant it or not that was still a great goal, beautiful, it looked like it was going wide and it just curled in

yeah, another thing that made that goal even more sweeter that it was the winning goal against City and that was the time people were writing Rooney off

Remember, if 9 times out of 10 that would've gone over the bar but i'm not taking nothing away from him, that was a superb finish.

See my post above, you actually have to wonder what his true intentions were with the shot. Bergkamps v us :( was the best IMO, pure calculated genius that made Dabizas look like a mug no other defender has ever been made to look like

Some of Ronaldo's goals were fantastic too, he used to humiliate defenders here

Dennis did score some crackers and that against you was one of his best. He scored another stunner v Leicester I think.

I think Cisse meant it last night, he could never of pictured it exactly like that but who can really, anything could happen and theres a keeper to factor in but he hit that ball and never took his eyes off it. Yes he moves into position after striking it but thats just a sign of Pardews management, no hanging about, get back into position asap or you get caught out.

How can be people think that Rooney's goal was the best ever goal in the Premier League?Yes,it was a good goal and he got a bit of luck with the way it hit his shin and went in.

To be in the top 3 would be questionable, but to finish 1st??<doh>
Matt Le Tissier's goal vs Newcastle was better and should of been in top 3 and I'm not saying this because I'm a saints fan but he was much better. For meBergkamp's goal vs Newcastle was the best.

Le Tisser scored two against NUFC that day and both were v good but if I recall rightly, didn't he mis hit one of them, the one he scored in the box? Tbh this kind of question can never be answered. Too subjective to truely answer. Far too many great goals over the years.

I think it just showed that most people voting in the thing are United fans of a young age.

Cantona's chip against Sunderland was a far better goal imo as were Cisse's the other day, Le Tiss's, Bergkamp's and Yeboah's
