Here's another possiblity, maybe aliens have landed in Hull taken Nick hostage & the Allams are trying to cover it up until the aliens return him on Thursday or Friday. Who knows, it's all speculation & until something concrete is given out then we'll just have to wait & see.
Is Barmby actually suspended yet? As the season has finished surely everyone is on leave anyway so there'd be no difference to leaving him working and suspending him. Maybe the no comments are because he hasn't been suspended, but there is a disciplinary meeting scheduled. My recollection of our disciplinary procedure at work was that where possible action could be taken people weren't to know unless they needed to. I know when I got collared for selling alcohol before time people only found out because I told them. (I was well pissed off about it because it was only 5 minutes early on the till and the tills were 10 minutes slow, so I was getting a disciplinary for selling alcohol before 12:30 on a Sunday when I'd made the sale at 12:35) but that's a whole different story. Now if Nick hasn't been suspended and they denied it and said he had a disciplinary today, if it was decided at the disciplinary he hadn't actually done anything wrong then the club having said so publically would potentially be an issue, and telling us and then taking action could be seen as it having been predetermined. If they just denied it and didn't tell us about the hearing and then took action today everyone would be accusing them of lieing about having suspended him even if they hadn't. And if he's suspended because they've taken stronger action but appealed it then it would have the same issues as telling us about the hearing.
Ricardo I don't know if Scottish employment law is different to the law in England & Wales, but I think that here, if a disciplinary meeting is to take place which could result in sanctions (including dismissal) then the employee is entitled to be given notice of the meeting, the allegations against them, and to give their account (possibly including witnesses on their behalf). I can't see any way that NB is not suspended (unless the meeting has taken place already). I also cannot see him being with us after the meeting. Whatever has happened, his position is now untenable.
It would be the same here, but a suspension would only be a requirement for the period before the hearing in certain circumstances so I'd assume this would be the same. With the drink thing I carried on working despite a potential sanction being dismissal, I was just kept off tills outside of licenced hours by being given specific jobs (part of my normal work, just selectively given to me), so Barmby would be fine but told not to speak to the press about anything. If I'd turned round and flattened my manager or a customer or something I'd have been suspended because the offence couldn't be something that could be guaranteed not to happen again. (for the record they didn't do anything with me, just said to go by the till time rather than the real time in future and agreed off the record it had been ridiculous we'd had to go through the process) OLM has said he's been officially suspended so it removes the question, I was just looking for a specific possibility.
He's been suspended for comments he's made to the media, nothing more, nothing less(before you ask, that's not speculation).
The disciplinary if definitely today. No outcome as yet. From what i'm hearing the outcome of todays meeting isn't 100% set in stone (although it is unlikely that it will be any but the end of NB time here.) The more I hear, the more blame sits on AP and his insistence on no more money being pumped in to the club.
I hope this turns out to be true, when he gets back, he can let us know if Elvis has recorded a new album.
I think that's right. Employees are normally suspended if what is being investigated is considered to possibly be gross misconduct, or their has been a breakdown in the employer/employee relationship. Either of those could apply (before anyone says, I'm not saying NB was guilty of gross misconduct, just that EH/AA apparently consider that's what it was)

What's the latest you've heard OLM? Or indeed PT? I haven't seen any updates from you two since the original stuff on Monday/Tuesday so has nothing new developed?

Can't OLM or PT give Burnsy the nod that you both know for sure that Nicks been sacked? Might save him posting stuff we already know.
My guess is (and thats all anyone can do atm) nick will be told he has been suspended from the managers posistion as we didnt finish in the playoffs and march was terrible, however he can carry on in an assistant roll or walk away when they bring in a new manager. Thats my guess and untill anything official comes out its as good as any
