    The Milner, Given and NZogbia money will be paid to us over several years. This is normal practice for transfers. We, however, have paid for our players with single payments as Ashley does not like having our future income being drained by payments for players from previous years.
    Whether the actual sale of Carroll is a good thing or not remains to be seen, but Ashley did well to get £30 million of the £35 million as an upfront payment.
    Pardew will definately not get £35 million to spend on players this summer. The club have already stated that this money will be used for the running of the club, transfers and future wages. They have stated catorgorically that this money will not be used to pay off any of the debt to Ashley and they expect the club to either break even or make a profit this year.

    Fat Fred was only protected during his time here because he was a Geordie if he was from any other part of the country I very much doubt he would of been in control for as long as he was
    very poor chairman

    Just on the one point about MA communicating with the fans, has anyone ever seen Abramovitch, the Glazers, Lerner or any of the other owners giving press conferences, as for the worst owner, Fat Freddy was chairman of a Plc, he only ever took money out, never put his hand in his pocket and for a local lad treated the fans as village idiots only there to feed his lifestyle.

    Ashley comes no where near these 3 for incompetence,disregard for the fans,selling the star assets or bloody minded greed.
    Not a fan of Ashley but have said on numerous occasions the one thing that is much better under him than any time I can remember is the academy whether this is down to good judgement or greed who knows but I'm going for a bit of both.

    Everyone outside of Newcastle thinks he's a **** (bar Boro and Sun'lun), so if there's any Toon fan who doesn't I'll be surprised.

    I love the atmosphere at St James' Park and generally around center of the toon on a matchday and I will always attend matches when I am around no matter who owns Newcastle United - the atmosphere is unbeatable. Despite Ashley making some dire decisions I still think like many others, that we should get behind our team regardless. I'm not sure if I agree too much about Ashley saving us from following Crystal Palace or Plymouth I think we could easily of landed other owners if Ashley hadn't stepped up.

    A key difference between Seymour, McKeag, Westwood and the present lump of lard is, whatever you may think, the trio just mentioned were proper supporters. Ashley, however, is nothing more than an asset stripper.

    He saved Newcastle United from certain doom... <laugh>

    He respects the fans, players and club legends like Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer... <laugh>
