I watched the video clip of the Paxman interview with Joey Barton, following the appointment of Gentleman Roy as England manager, and I've got to say that I was pretty impressed. For someone who has been such a thug on and off the field, he comes across as very articulate and thoughtful.
It was interesting. Was a bit surprised he was introduced as having convictions for violence, not that I didn't know, just didn't see why that was relevant. He should have stuck one on Paxo
It should be remembered that some of the worst psychopaths in history could be very charming, and articulate - when it suited them!
When he is not trying to be a philosopher on Twitter he is actually quite a smart lad, as far as the game is concerned anyway. Shame about his poor self-control. I think he could actually have been a very good player.
Most politicians are psychopaths it's essential to survive the media and each other. You need to be charming if you are a psychopath every one needs friends. Even Piskie must have one!
It's probably his teddy, who tells him every night that he's doing a wonderful job, that all those nasty people like Jayram love him really, and he's the best moderator in the whole wide world. Teddy is really a Spurs supporter, but doesn't have the heart to tell him!...
