I laughed at the Sun for that article, not at Roy. Roy speaks 4 languages fluently and another 2 at a high level on top of that. Most Sun readers cant even speak English properly.
Mate, i'm not defending the Sun here, i'm not even suggesting that I think it's good and proper to mock the fella on the front page. What I AM saying, is that it has been made into a big deal, when it didn't need to be, it's that simple. Most people I know call Roy 'Woy', and it's certainly not an insult. The Sun is a ****e publication, on that we are unanimous (although there will be plenty double standards here, admit it or not, some will read it..) but the point I personally was making was the fact the country is full of PC idiots who have made a little joke into a massive slur. Now THAT is pathetic.
It's not really nasty, it just shows the pathetic level of journalism that gets printed. If people didn't buy this rag they wouldn't run headlines like this.
Absolute disgrace and further proof that the press are now out of control in this country. The tapping of phones, emails and now what is basically tantamount to traitorous unpatriotic behaviour, when are we going to act? There is a great piece by a journalist (can't remember his name) where he discusses the dumbing down of our media and nation. He has it bang on and there needs to stricter rules in place. As Is aid the other day, "freedom of speech" will be the cry from the liberals. Well **** that.
Not very often a subject gets me hyped Syd to be honest. Very laid back but our press and the effect its having on the people of this country just gets me raging. The argument is always freedom of speech, if people didn't buy it then they wouldn't exist, got to give the people what they want. I'm sorry but there is a good few who are just too thick to know better and there are such things as standards. Right that's me done on the subject, so you won't have to censor me.
Find it quite sad, when people take this serious.......... How manny can speak 2 languages, let alone 3 or 4? FFS lighten up.
You're right MON it is overhyped, but with this 24 hour news programmes and sports programmes they whip everything up to a frenzy. I just hate the tabloids who think they speak for people and slag a bloke off before a ball has even been kicked!
