dunno, tough one. when West Ham aren't playing the long ball they actually play some nice football. Cardiff as mentioned earlier are tough enough which showed at Wembley vs Liverpool One of these two i reckon..
The sadist in me is looking forward to a penalty shoot out. Cant beat it as long as Saints aren't involved!
I'll be routing for Cardiff all the way, they've been there or there abouts for a fair few seasons now, and I think they deserve to go up. Would love a Blackpool vs Cardiff final so Cardiff can get revenge for being knocked out by then a few years ago, plus that would mean West Ham were knocked out at the first hurdle. It is honestly not just that I live here and would love to be able to watch 2 away games with ease
I agree I think Cardiff are due a change of luck and I rate their manager. Don't mind Hughton but have no time for Fat Sam or barmy Holloway.
Really not sure who I'd like to win. Just delighted we aren't in it and that I can enjoy the rest of the season. BLACKPOOL: Pros: Likely to be in or around the relegation places if last season is anything to go by / likeable club punching above their weight who will guarantee some exciting and high-scoring games Cons: As shown by their results and performances against us this season, I fear they could nick a good few points off us next year / Holloway is a prick and isn't as funny as he thinks he is BIRMINGHAM: Pros: Chris Hughton (talented manager and all-round nice bloke who deserves another go at managing in the Prem) / my uncle supports them so he'd be made up Cons: Marlon King / I fear they'll stay up comfortably if they go up CARDIFF: Pros: Had play-off and cup heartbreak galore in the last few years, deserve some success for all the near-misses / like Blackpool, I expect they'll be relegation battlers Cons: Having two Welsh teams in the Premier League might give Celtic a stronger argument for joining (and no one, apart from them, wants that to happen) / No chance of signing Whittingham if they are promoted WEST HAM: Pros: Got a few good mates who support them / they've been up there with us all season - would be very cruel for them to miss out Cons: Despicable characters in and around the club (I'm thinking Brady, Gold, Nolan and especially Moose from TalkSport - I don't actually mind Allardyce that much) / Allardyce would almost certainly guarantee them lower mid-table safety next year
Good summary Beanpole. I too don't dilsike the Hammers fans just their mouthy Chiarman and the management.
I don't like the play offs at all. They are really unfair on the team that finishes 3rd, if they get beaten by a team that sneaks into 6th place on the last game of the season (see Swansea last year), particuarly if the team in the 3rd was miles ahead. I don't really like West Ham to be honest, but can you begrudge them promotion, when based over 46 games they finished in 3rd spot? Based purely on performances over the whole season I think WHU should go up, but my personal preference would be for Blackpool.
It's not fair but you have to draw a line somewhere. What it does do is maintain interest right up intil the last couple of games for a number of clubs who let's face it w/o the playoffs would have had nothing to play for. Im nost cases for weeks.
Yes, I've tried quite hard for the last 30 seconds and I've found that it's actually working. I can begrudge them promotion.
I just won a pair of tickets for the playoff final in the Fantasy football - I don't care who goes through to be honest, as long as it is a good game on the day. Brum vs Cardiff would be my choice.
Don't know whether to wear my Saints Shirt or not, might be adding a little tension I don't need if I do
Blackpool or Brum would probably be OK but not West Ham or Cardiff. Might end up with extra red stripes!
I don't think there's a chance of us signing Whittingham anyway, so Cardiff up would be nice. Thumping West Ham along the way.
I see West Ham reckon they are going to "intimidate Cardiff". Not sure about that. I reckon a narrow home win tonight followed by the West Ham players bottling it in front of theoir own fans on Monday!
Not sure FS deserves promotion......The way he is getting West Ham to play at the moment. Also I see him as another Poyet and just as drippy!!
