so you are saying Barmby wasn't given money for any transfer targets if he wanted them ? (even tho the club were 5th and Allams had offered "millions" ) when did you discover this , since Barmbys suspension or was in during the Jan transfer window . The reason i ask is im sure your source would have mentioned it back in Jan when Barmby was hoodwinked into signing the contract .
This isn't something new, the board have been penny pinching for months now, and their story yesterday is laughable if you knew some of the ridiculous things that have been going on at the club. It just shows what type of people they are when they come out with this crap all the time knowing they will be putting a clause in Nicks pay off that won't allow him to talk about it - I just hope AP comes out with the truth eventually. Money was initially offered for one transfer (Hammill) which didn't happen because Wolves decided not to let him leave on a permanent. When Hammill was offered to us in February before he went to Boro the board wouldn't sanction the money to pay his wages (which were a lot less than 40/50k per week!) NB fully knew the financial situation, and wasn't actually that bothered, as he was told he would have money for wages etc and the management team knew they could get some good loans in during January (not allowed to in the end) and some excellent free transfers this summer.
AP certainly can speak freely as hes not due anything in the way of compo as far as i can make out is he ?, as for NB , he can say what he likes , the Gagging order will depend on how much OVER his legal entitlement he wants to take from the Allams . or put another way , if NB is legally owed 4 sausage rolls - he will get 4 sausage rolls . If he wants 4 sausage rolls and a baked bean pastie to go with it , thats when he will be offered the gagging deal surely ? Look im not waving a finger or calling you or your source wrong , i just dont get why back in JAN nobody was blaming Mr Allam for not spending (and therefor lying to NB) , but people on here were blaming Barmby for not spending available funds. and about the ridiculous stuff going on at the club , im all for prodding hornets nets , ive got my repellant on - do tell us
This really isn't anything new, people were suggesting even back in January that it seemed suspicious and OLM told me privately back in February about the dodginess surrounding the 'money' available. I can't believe people are so surprised to hear that it was never there, and some still don't believe it just because the Allams say so. PT, I've always suspected your source comes from close to NB because I think you started posting stuff just after he took over, am I right in thinking you might not have insider info any more once he is gone?
Quite possibly, as of now though, he hasn't. It's also possible that he won't be. Unless you're one of the Allams, or Nick, or best mates with one of them, you do not know 100% for sure.
Just in case that were true I'm not sure discussing it publically would be a sensible approach. Sousa was sacked at QPR for revealing sensitive information, I don't think someone confirming that if Nick goes they'd likely lose their inside info would be particularly helpful to his current situation, especially if it's not Nick and it's just someone close to Nick within the club.
Allams said they dont mind paying for quality and value. But not for players who dont even get to smell the grass on matchdays. Now they must have spent somewhere between £3-4m is wages this season on players who were hardly involved at all and I agree with AA/EA in thats a waste and waste in football has to stop.
Correct. ^^^ this. Nick said nothing wrong at all. There is much more to this than is known to any of us. Why has Nicks suspension Not been made official yet ? Regardless of what we know and have been told there is Nothing Official to say that Nick has been suspended or sacked as of now.
The timing of that memo from Ehab Allam that Burnsy read out on the radio on tuesday said alot and the timing was crazy. That should have been left until this week. Some of the penny pinching had to be done and again that goes back to Bartlett and Duffers regime. The fact that Nick has said and done nothing wrong is what is so hard to take. But rest assured that HDM article will now be one big stick to beat the Allams with if they dont do as they mentioned. ffs, they must know that the PL has to the priority even if a little more cost is incurred. It would not only get them there money back but give much needed funds for players. The Free market will only get better as all clubs cut there squad lists.
I dont see NB agreeing to any kind of gagging order. Why does he have to as its not as though he needs the money is it ? If it ends today my guess is that Nick will take what he is legally due and then say his peace to all of us. Who can blame him.
No wonder they're sacking Nick, if they Allam's are going to decide who to sign, who plays and in what formation, they don't need a manager at all.
If that was true (which it probably isn't, they've just heard that some fans wanted a striker and tried to suck up to us by saying that) then it'd still be a dodgy situation with the owner trying to sign players for the manager.
It sure does sound like they were picking targets. However sit in there shoes for a minute. In January we were doing pretty well. We had Stewart, Brady (extension), Mclean playing 'well' on the wings with King coming in on loan and the Allams agreeing to offer Garcia a contract extension. Equalling 5 'wide' men. When we tried to BUY Hammil I believe we couldn't agree a fee. (we don't not what wolves wanted, what we offered or what the owners wanted to spend). When Hammil is offered to use later on loan. I don't agree with them (I'd love Hammil at the club) but they must of thought, we're paying for (with King and Garcia) 5 players already who are playing the wingers role. I can see how business men could of replied, why should I pay wages for a 6th winger which is fair comment. Where the 'value for money' in that. IMO we should of signed him regardless, he would have improved the squad and probably helped in the games without Koren, but I can see how it might not have made business sense to refuse. In terms of the striker. No way should we pay a striker 40-50k a week while in the Championship its mental. But we've been goal shy for years so setting a side money for a striker rather than a winger makes sense. What I don't understand is if money for a striker was there for the same overall money as Sharp (Fee and wages) could we not have gone for Rhodes? Surely his wages would have been more in line with the rest of the dressing room with the excess being used on the larger fee if it demanded it.
I'd whisper that if I were you... or Ehab will be buying a long brown coat and subscribing to 4-4-2 magazine before you can say "Saadi Gaddafi"
