Can Marvin be happy sitting on the bench week after week and even when a game is well and truely beyond reach not getting on the pitch?

My dad and i were talking about that. I said he was silly to move so early when he was getting game time every week with us (happy he did cos we did better with out) and he was only improving his stock. However, now he simply warms the bench, does not get noticed and runs the risk of not making the U21 squad if he is not match fit. However, Dad pointed out that he was earning premiership wages, training with a premiership team and learning about the league, and in effect he is prolonging his career as he is not getting injured. I however, would hate warming the bench!!

It reminds me of this. Even down to the incompetent keeper part.

i have asked NNW, on numerous occasions. I have almost begged at times, and Mick refuses to even respond to the request. I've spoken to Syd about it, but he doesn't feel we need it...i'll keep trying, but so far, no cigar, sorry.

I don't think he is. He's also started getting a lot of stick on Twitter, not sure this is the best second half of the season he could have wanted.

    It was!

And, i'm back. It took over four and a half hours to get to Taunton coz of the traffic..nearly missed the beginning of the blinkin' funeral, but it all went very well, considering. Some lovely words spoken and afterwards, the sun was gorgeous, and we all sat outside reminiscing. It was warm..in so many ways :)

thanks for the coffee Ak, i've had a fair few of those today! i had to stay awake on the motorway lol

Morning all from a dull start in West West London - it was tipping it down in Bandit Country when I left, so not sure where the rain is spreading from. Hopefully it will stay dry as I have to shoot down to Reading to pick daughter up from the station - she is home for the next few weeks s she is free-lancing at a well known TV shopping channel.

Cisses goal was very clever, if that is what he intended.

Do we care? He has gone and I think we have done better without him. I have said before the other players may have been using Marvin as their support to get the team out of trouble. Now he is not there the team has worked together and got the results.

Dont worry W_Y this is not the bbc, you can mention company names. We all know that there are alternatives and just cos you mention a specific one does not mean that its the only one or the best. I wont go deleting comments for it.

He meant every bit of it AK. You can see by the way he deliberately hits the inside(right side) of the ball with the outside (left side) of his boot to generate a massive curve. Although Cech might have done better.

Cisse's was a great goal - so was the Tottenham curling free kick by Walker - that ball bent about 90 degrees

As much as I want to see Sordell do well, the fact that he had the talent but left too early doesn't harm us, in my opinion. It simply makes him another good case study for the academy lads, alongside other stories that they will doubtless already know such as that of Harry Forrester.

NZ asked about how names are organised in Ísland

    This is quite easy.

To start you will be given your fathers name as an identifier at birth so if your father was called Björn for example and your parents decided to call you Helgi you would be Helgi Björnsson. There are circumstances where the mothers name would be taken, like Heiðar has. Going to the example again if you were a girl you would be Björnsdóttir. Also when a girl marries she keeps her given names so a family of four with two parents and one boy and one girl would appear to have four completely different surnames, although for us is normal. With more children and the possibility to chose you patronymic/matronymic the family could have two boys and two girls with different names.

If you want more information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_name is very good.

    Heiðars mother is Helga

Changing name because you are upset with your father can be done, but could be interesting in teenage years.
    What is Bjarnis name today?

There is a very good website called http://en.island.is writen by the government with
lots of general information about living here.

Afternoon all, a busy morning with the septic tank inspection man. It seems as if we may be up to scratch despite the somewhat unconventional system. My knowledge of which pipes went where was a help, so apart from a suggestion that we should have it sucked out from time to time, as far as we could gather from a fast speaker we will not be involved in any works. ;)

Anyway the sun is blazing down and after some dinner I will be able to carry on with my planting out. I now have a week before I go on holiday so need a good spell of weather to leave things to look after themselves for a fortnight.
