Who know's if he meant it or not. We're just guessing I suppose! Cisse's the only one that knows. It's hypnotic to watch though
Cech is just prone to getting caught out of position in my opinion. He showed it against Liverpool when Meireles scored. But I can't be arsed arguing about something that neither of us are going to budge on.
It was just a truly brilliant goal. Meant or not he took a strike at goal so his intention was to score was it not? He may not of pictured it in his head like that before hand but does that take anything away from it?
Cisse meant it, he hit the ball with the outside of his foot deliberately to make it swerve, the guy is unreal.
Takes nothing away from it. But when you're trying to decide the best at the end of the season it's something you should take into account. I've scored a few top corner pearlers, many of which I've simply blasted in the general direction of the goal. In fact, all of them...
Not doubting this. I am doubting that he intended it to loop over Cech and into the opposite corner. Too many factors to consider when simply lashing a ball at goal. I'm not trying to discredit Cisse. He's proven he knows where the net is. But, as is the case with any goal of that kind, there's more luck than judgement. You do, for the most part, hit and hope. Nobody possesses so much control over a ball that they can hit it as hard as possible and exactly where they're aiming without a bit of luck. How many worldies has Gerrard scored, and how many has he blazed high and wide? More of the latter than the former. Suarez's was a controlled finish. Had a bit of power in it, but the aim was always to lob the 'keeper.
The ONLY thing he meant was to kick the ball in the general direction of the goal and nothing more. All else is childish speculation
I remember Tony Yeboah smashing a Volley in off the bar for Leeds, and my Dad telling me he was lucky, as he just hit it and hoped, only for the fella to go and score an (almost) identical, but even better one a few weeks later against Wimbledon. Stunning. My old fella probably reckons Foredeck is right. Unless Cisse repeats the act, it's a fluke!
Wow, you really are the epitome of every Liverpool fan stereotype, I mean probably every single stereotype. It just seems to be the elitist Liverpool fans that aren't celebrating that goal, such a shame really.
Whilst it is a stunning goal I agree that its more hit and hope than intention; that takes nothing away from Cisse himself as he is looking a cracking player but to suggest he meant it to curve into the right top corner and headlines like the following are laughable! Defied physics and impossible and yet it happened, rather quashes their theory really! http://www.smh.com.au/sport/footbal...nder-strike-sinks-chelsea-20120503-1y04w.html Van Basten's effort against USSR was both intended and executed.
The chavs were only going on yesterday about how sheite Cisse was Goal of the season without a doubt. When a Keeper gets beat form where Suarez scored form you just HAVE to blame the keeper tbh. Cisse's was just fkn unstoppable This is the worst result for City I think, Newcastle are still in hte hunt for 4th,
It was a great goal and makes you smile to watch it. It makes you smile because it underlines the unpredicatbility of football as luck plays a part in everything. The fact we are debating whether Cisse meant it or not takes it out of the wonder goal catagory for me - sorry. If he meant to put that much swerve on it and aimed for that corner then it's one of the best goals ever scored. He didn't. His reaction when it goes in said it all. Still a brilliant goal though - he's had an awesome season, long may it continue. I would much rather see proper clubs like Newcastle doing well instead of all the dirty oil funded play things (MUFC excluded obv!)
why do Liverpool fans have a complete different opinion to literally everybody else on footballing matters??
