Genuine question - do you think your players seemed a bit lack lustre because their minds are on the F.A. Cup Final ? ....Will you field a different line up in the Cup Final ? I've backed you lads to beat Liverpool !
I predict the team for Liverpool will be Cech Ivan Luiz Terry Cole Mikel Lampard Ramires Mata Kalou Drogba Far more balanced than today's imo and we'll be going into it with a completely different mind set. We didn't get beaten tactically today, two world class goals were the difference and they were both unstoppable, Newcastle definitelty deserved something out of the game for their first half performance but we were the better side in the 2nd. 2-0 is some what deceptive IMHO! I hate playing Liverpool, they're our bogey team and always seem to up their game for us AND in the big ties. I've got this horrible feeling they'll do the double over us
I am expecting to see this for Wembley Cech Bosingwa Ivan JT Cole Ramires Essien Lamps Kalou Drogba Mata Maybe Sturridge for Kalou.
Bit of desperation on the Liverpool board, calling for Ivanovic to be banned for his absolute nothing of an elbow on Ba who actually dived!
Sunderland fan in peace? Give over, this was a 5th versus 6th clash which Chelsea knew they had to win to stay in the hunt for Champion's League football without relying on a win in the final (Champion's League is a competition in Europe which you won't be familiar with) Why the DiMatteo rested a few players is anyone's guess but they didn't stay on the bench long! Lack lustre?! WTF? Howay the Lads, let's all laugh at Sunderland ... SMB! p.s. Chelsea fans, I hope Mikel get's done by the FA for the blatant and disgusting foul on Tiote ... disgraceful!!

Yes, they came on in the 2nd half in which I believe we were the better team. I'm not taking away anything from Newcastle because you deserved something from that but in fairness there was nothing we could do about the goals. Re Mikel, well I couldn't see clearly via my stream but Tiote's previously looked pretty bad too and he'd been munching our lads all night.
Tiote was putting it about himself, and imo was a dead cert for a 2nd yellow.I hope the fella's ok but imo he asked for it, pay backs are hell Good luck for your remaining games and hope you go on nick 3rd spot from the South London rejects
If the ref was making the right calls, Tiote would have been off for his elbow on Mikel's face before that. Can't blame Mikel for defending himself.
Thought we looked tired tonight from the outset we had trouble with our tempo which made them look better than they were. Two cracking goals mind.
I'm a bit concerned with a fanset glorifying violence in the name of "retribution" or "revenge". Tiote, in my opinion, is the finest player I've ever seen play at St James' (and although it's easy to critique that fact on his shooting ability or otherwise, but at his position I think he's truly inspiring). Obviously, from that subjective construction, it's obvious I disagree with the views present on here. He got a deserved yellow early on, but Tiote has unbelievable control over his game. He tore whatever the hell was Chelsea's midfield to pieces in the first half, often taking the ball back to beat them again. His passing was superb as usual and his reading of the game much better than even Essien at his best (still, that would be my view). Tackle-wise I didn't feel the incident prior to the tackle which ended his game was at all nasty or even yellow card worthy. He put his arm on the opponent's chest, but whilst attempting to get the ball, so it wasn't an obvious check or a "definite yellow" at all. At most, in my opinion, it was the type of challenge warranting a bit of a warning or reminder from the ref. People calling for an "elbow" and a "red" are going too far I think. The actual incident was quite nasty (in the framework that Tiote has an 8 inch gash on his head now), but unfortunately aided by a rather horrible landing. Was it pre-meditated? Well Mikel certainly ****ed off quick to Terry's side to smirk about it/protest his innocence/seek protection. Still not sure though, and I'm pleased Pardew was diplomatic with his post-match interview, as there were too many positives to be drawn into a petty debate about what Mikel did or did not intend. If the FA decide further action will be taken, ok, if not, we move on. Simple. Overall, nothing to be disappointed about as a Newcastle fan and I'm very pleased we got a result, especially as I felt we were hard done to at home. Falling into line with Pardew, who gathers more and more momentum in my esteem, I wish Chelsea FC good luck in their two finals... We're off to mainland Europe next year to play football whatever happens!
Tiote was givein it and making a meal out of our players.......Mikel gave him his afters... if ya cant take it...... dont give it, no qualms about the result two cracking goals think your 2nd is goal of the season, hope ya get 3rd spot (beware of the 4th spot)
I think we went down to 2 spectacular goals which could rank in this seasons top 10, plus I think some of the players had half their minds on staying fit and card free for Sunday! Its a shame because last night, for me, was more important than Sunday!
Regarding the Tiote incidents there was nothing in either of the challenges both accidental and both very unfortunate. This is borne out of the players not reacting to the incidents. The game was played in a competative but friendly manner so people who are talking of revenge tackles are wide of the mark. ps. Tiote will be a Chelsea player next season.
It's saturday isn't it? Anyway, a league game that decides who is 5th and who is 6th is not as important as a cup final!!! Even had we won last night, with a trip to anfied and cup final distractions we probably wouldn;t have got top 4 anyway. Spurs have a fairly easy run in and look like they'll just do enough. I just hope they don't pip the goons to 3rd so we have even more to play for in Munich!!
