Excuse me? What has he done of any note that would make even 10% of his transfer fee (18m) seem a good deal? He's garbage, he shows no potential.
I must say that I do rate Phil Jones. If you watch him technically, he has a lot of qualities to be a great defender. But as Proud said, he probably doesn't have the maturity to play there for Manchester United week in week out. If you watched the Euro U21 championships, he (and Smalling) was outstanding. United haven't paid £18 million for he player he is now, they've paid it for the potential he has.
I've seen him play a few times he's a good player not sure what he will be like against better defenders tho, he'd do great against our non league centre backs haha
I like Phil Jones - he was very good at Blackburn, is still young, and could have a really big future - he's comfortable on the ball for a big guy and will eventually be played as a central defender - and Sir Alex (like or loath him) gets it right about 90% of the time ... Vardy is no gamble - he is by far and away the best player in the Conference - the fee now being quoted is less than £1 million (I've seen £750k) - if he doesn't make it with us there would still be a host of clubs in L1 and L2 willing to give a proven goalscorer at Conference level a chance and willing to pay a 6 figure sum to do so ... now Jordan Henderson at £20 million IS a gamble ...
The thing with Vardy is he would be a massive gamble for most teams in this league but with the money we have he isnt that big of a gamble

You have to pay big for goalscorers. You have to remember Fleetwood are a league 2 club now so they can ask for a little bit more
