Does anyone else agree that Newcastle's win over Chelsea may have just secured us 4th place tonight? Realistically, can anyone see the Geordies beating Man City this weekend? Possibly but I think a draw or defeat is more likely, considering what's at stake. No way will Mancini rest players like Di Matteo did tonight. As for Chelsea, their season now seems to hinge on the Champions League Final (and the FA Cup as a back up). Let's hope Bayern can do the business and we get the finishing spot that I think we deserve when you consider the season as a whole. A draw at Villa and a win against Fulham at home now may be enough. COYS!!!
I LIKE being 4 points clear of Chelsea. They have Blackburn and Liverpool. If they don't win the cup then huge pressure is on them for the CL. I think that the luck they've had all season might just run out now.
Flaspur,I don't want to talk about securing positions seeing as how far ahead we once were and let it slip. I'd say a win against Villa and Fulham..........?
You didn't find it remotely funny HD got it wrong aswell, you didn't even see the laugh smiley as a clue?....massive sense of humour failure....you know where you can put your 'ffs' now.
Fair play to Lennon, I'm not a big fan but he did the biz tonight. We played far better than I thought we would, absolutely delighted with the performance and result. It's now quite clear if we don't get CL it's Harry/England/the team to blame. In what proportion I know not, but it's a crying shame if we lose out. Tonight we played like we played away pre-'England'. Here's hoping for a happy ending, but can see West Brom collapsing like us and Arsenal getting 3rd. Anyway, great night, great performance.
Got to admire how Sky caught that Chavling giving him the finger in slow motion for the first goal...
Has the weight of the England speculation finally lifted and we are going to get our team back? Based on tonight I think we might! Coys let's get those two wins!
My hopes for the season's end: Spurs to win their last 2. West Brom to give Woy a leaving present and beat/draw with the Goons. Newcastle to win their last 2. Going to pray every night for this.
Yes, we looked much more like our old selves last night. In the last half hour particularly. If we could just improve our final ball, and some of our finishing, we would be in far better shape, now. It's what we're all about. Great fast flowing counter attacking football. Why we have tried to get away from that, I don't know. I was also impressed by the effort, and desire put in by virtually all our players - they really looked up for it. Sandro, especially was brilliant in midfield. If we can keep going like that for another two games, we can then only hope that either The Goons or The Chavs, slip up - preferably both!
Very good performance from Spurs last night, although Bolton certainly had us under the cosh at the start of the second half. What a time to finally get our first win at the Reebok! Two games left and six points up for grabs - we have to ensure we win them all to give ourselves a sporting chance of Champions League football next season.
