you beat me to it ,i was just gonna post about beavon on here, lets hope he chooses charlton if he does move.on another note i heard today that spurs have bid 3 million for wiggins and everton have also put in a bid
For all you Wycombe lads, do you reckon Beavon could make the step up? I certainly hope those two haven't bid for Wiggins, or if they have then I hope we haven't accepted he'd be off like a shot.
I hope he stays with you and helps Wycombe go straight back up to L 1, one of my favourite away visits a few seasons back. I love seats in football grounds and it's great to see so many more people going to matches who wouldn't have gone if they were forced to stand.
my mates boy is wiggins best mate and he informed him of the bids.as for beavon he is a very skilful player and should make the step up to the championship
Everton are about to lose Baines (for very good money) to Manure so will be in the market for a new left back , their name on that list is a worry!
Thing is, if we were to get Beavon, then Beavon and Hayes were a very good partnership for Wycombe so...... why get rid of Hayes when he is our natural backup for Kermit?
If anyone did bid £3 million straight cash we would take the money and quite right too. We could buy a replacement LB for £1 million and two other players to strengthen the team at £1 million each (hopefully LM and RM). He could get crocked in his first or second match and be worth nothing, just a recurrent expense like Youga. Clubs with average gates of around 20,000 cannot afford to turn down bids of this magnitude. It's too risky. They can have Kermorgant and Morrison too at the same price each. The chairman stated a year ago we are in business to develop players and sell them, so don't be shocked. As for Beavon, that's fine as long as we don't pay more than £350,000. He is 27 and has only had one season of prolific scoring in League football (the last). 27 goals in 104 appearances for Wycombe (half of them in Div 2) is not exactly a stunning record. Izale McLeod and Luke Varney both had better priors and were younger, but they both flopped with us, so we shouldn't risk too much cash. Good point, but would Hayes want to play fifth fiddle to BWP, Kermit, Haynes and Beavon? And even if he stayed just to earn a steady wage the easy way, would he be ready to step up on his rare appearances. He hardly impressed against Huddersfield recently. Understandable after so long out, but then it is always going to be that way for a fifth choice. If the guy has any self-respect he would rather be first choice for a Wycombe standard club or third choice for a top Div One club.
