I think the FA knew what a circus it would be with Harry. A great big jolly boys outing like Germany under Sven, far too pally. They went for a bit of order with Capello, who went the other way with the Sth. Africa fiasco, Hodgson is somewhere inbetween. The FA said it was a multi manager short list and would not discuss who else was on it. I wouldn't mind betting Harry was never on it in the first place. I think the media bandwagon and even players picking there manager via Twitter was extremely unprofessional, and not the sort of behaviour they wanted surrounding the appointment.
At 'Pool, the Mousers made Gentleman Roy walk alone. Now, the entire country is walking with him. Well done, Roy! Shame on you, Mousers!
SS news reporting that Gerrard has given his full backing to Woy as England manager. Had a chuckle at that, all things considered. IMO as a non Englishman, Roy should scrap all the old guard (we all know who they are, and the baggage that comes with them) and go with a squad of youngsters with something to prove. I mean, he's got feck all to lose. Pretty much the same set of players have played below par at international level for quite a while, so what makes people think they can go further than before? <twocents>
True. He's going to get turned into a root vegetable by the red tops, anyway. Still, for £2.5mm per year, he probably won't give a flying ****!
Nice of The Sun to start as they mean to go on. If he actually does well, then they'll hail him as a hewo...
Personally I thought the Sun frontpage headline was disgraceful. I saw Hodgson's media interview yesterday when his appointment was confirmed, and some bright spark tried to pick fault with him for going to South Africa to play football in 1973. I have this feeling the press will be on Hodgson's back before this summer is over.
That's guaranteed!! They've already started with the " Why did you play football in South Africa 40 years ago?" The best poor old Roy can hope for is a decent pension top-up.

Hearing that mumbling weasel Gerrard almost begging to be included in the Euros is pretty hard to take. Particularly when him and his pals didn't break a sweat for "small time" Roy at Klanfield. Shameful.
bet no liverpool players make the England team under Roy,after the way they did'nt play for him, what goes around, comes around
I can't remember a big input into England games by Gerrard or Lampard. Lampard slightly better than Boy of the Drovers. Rooney's not done a fat lot either.
If Lampard or Gerrard are going to play, then Hodgson needs to pick one of them in the position which they both play for their clubs and bench the other.
