Ok let's have white and red stripes, instead of red and white! All red socks with white tops. Black shorts with a narrow vertical white and red stripe down each side.
Yes always a good range. Infect my son ears my actual 1982 home shirt and tracksuit top! Not replicas but the actual ones I used to wear. Who said hoarding stuff doesn't pay!
Translation: infect my son ears = in fact my son wears. Thought we had some child cruelty going on there.
Exactly. And there's always retro shirts. The 83/84 one with the Air Florida sponsor's logo is a design classic from a brilliant season.
A Premier League rule about having stripes on the back of shirts. Really!? I suppose its far more important an issue than sorting out diving, goal-line technology, whinging managers, racism, out of control pay, the offside law, respect etc etc
In fairness they've already tackled the scourge on the game that was Snoods - so it's only right that they go after stripes next. It's making the world a better place.
I thought you're not allowed stripes on the back of shirts now due to it being a rule in european competition? It supposedly makes the number easier to read if it's on a blank back. Wasn't this reason why Saints released another shirt when we got into Europe, so we complied with the rules?
That sounds about right.... Tbf.... The issue of striped is fairly non contentious and I doubt many give a monkeys.... However, diving involved opinions, working groups, ex pros, an enquiry to see how widespread it is, no doubt the FA would be at loggerheads with the refs association as well... This would all detract from the amount of money that could be lining FA pockets....!!
Sticking to my sash. Not because I'm a tight bugger, but because I like the fact it doesn't have a sponsors name on it and it celebrated a significant event .. oh yeah, and my missus says I look pregnant in stripes!
No. Good kit, but make that one the 3rd strip. I want to keep the Brazil strip for when we play teams in red at their venues.
Think having a new kit every year is a good thing - another little 'something' to look forward to. Besides, you don't have to buy a new one every year. I still like to wear the '84 shirt. If you don't like a kit, you only have to wait 12 months for an alternative. Hope we get collars back this season
when they released the kit they did say "2011-2012" home and away kit, so there will definitely be a new one.
I remember them changing the rule about striped shirts have to be one colour on the back. At the time we appealed and got to keep stripes on the back because they were part of the clubs history I believe. I did quite like our European shirt though but that could have been just because we were in a uefa cup how ever briefly.
Went into the club shop today and they confirmed there will be a new home and away strip for the start of the season although no details are availiable as yet.
