I think we all could have guessed that <laugh>

Lennon and Parker are both doubts apparently. If Lennon's out I'd go with GDS on the right and try to keep a similar shape to Sunday.

And Bentley in the middle of course <run>

I think the fact Bolton realistically have to win this one will play into our hands, they cant afford to just sit deep and hope to catch us on the break like Blackburn did, a point tonight helps no one.

I agree if Lennon is out then keep the same shape as Sunday and bring in GDS, also puts him in the shop window so maybe he will have extra incentive to perform.

A point is ok if the other game is a draw.

We all know Harry isn't going to pick GDS however right we all think it is.

Good luck tonight lads; don't let Bolton trample your glorious name into the mud, like they say they will. A repetition of last Sunday's scoreline would do nicely and would indeed be well merited. Now that the distraction over the England job is finally over you look as though you will pick up where you left off before the speculation started.

Getting a little payback for FA board member Phil Gartside saying Harry should get the job a couple of weeks ago would be ideal...

No self interest in this, just concerned for Spurs? Oh, a QPR fan, got it!

 all. I think playing GDS is about as good an idea as playing Bentley, but each to their own <ok>

If Lennon starts fair enough, but I expect him to be ineffective, and part of the reason we don't win the game. If GDS starts the prognosis will be even more dire, I'd start looking to a defeat.

I think the same way about any variations on 4-2-3-1, where the two are holding midfielders.
It simply doesn't work and it pushes our best players out of their most effective positions.
It's also lead to Bale's downfall this season, as he was extremely effective until he decided that he wasn't a winger.

Absolutely agree PNP. It is pointless playing more than one DM against a team with a goal difference of -28. It makes US play deep and invites sides on; Not really what's required when they need a win for survival and probably look at our away record of late and see us as a good source of points.

If only we had a winger to play instead of Lennon. Dos Santos might do a job there but its a big ask to make him play out of position in a crucial match when he's hardly had a look in for four years.

I still favour a switch to 4231 next year, but there is no point in experimenting with it now because the system is only important against the best teams and we've played all those already.

Spot on. We need to replace like for like. I would rather see gio on the pitch then numerous players out of position and 2dms with no width

As I've pointed out a million times we've got almost no sensible 'like-for-like' cover for anyone playing 442 perhaps Sandro/Livermore/Parker - that's why we are such rubbish when anyone is injured. Gio is not a winger! But its too late now so let's hope he or someone else can fill in for Lennon

Sky Sports News are tonight airing their own ridiculous headlines in the build up to the Bolton game.

"Harry Redknapp takes charge of Spurs for the first time tonight since missing out on the England job"

What a totally stupid statement to make:

    1) Harry was never offered the job
    2) Take charge for the first time? No matter how you spin that, there's no 'first' to mention here!
    3) Are the media really that pathetic that they didn't get 'their' first choice into the job, they simply can't let it go
    4) Can we all just move the f**k on now please! <steam>

Ok, end of rant. COYS!! Let's have a performance tonight.

OK he may not be a natural winger but at least it keeps modric bale and vdv in their most effective positions.

We've never tried Modric in what I suspect his most effective position - where Silva plays for City, Mata for Chelsea, and Iniesta for Barcelona. But of course none of those teams play with two wingers so they must all be pants.
