I hate to say this guys, but even though White is far from the finished article, he has the one thing we & plenty of others lack; pace. If/when he develops a bit more guile & the ability to put in the telling cross that anyone could knock in, £15k per week will seem peanuts. That said, if White got that, Snoddy, Ross, Beccs etc would all want the same at least. Rather screws up the wage structure.

    Difficult situation for the club.

I think it's an easy choice for the club. He needs to go. Clearly is more interested in money than the team and has a seriously over-massaged ego. Ta,ta!

15k for the finished article in the championship is a good wage! Aidys played a handfull of games and hasnt even made a position of his own yet, yes he is pacey but hes got a hell of a lot to learn, like putting his head up whilst running with a ball!

Wouldnt dream of putting White anywhere near 15k. As i said earlier I hope hes gone in high knowing he will be knocked down if not he can clear off. Warnock wouldnt dream of giving him that deal let alone Harvey.

He can go elsewhere and get that though so do you really blame in,

If someones come in and said We will give you 15k per week and he goes to Leeds n says Ive been offered 15k per week will you match is he really in the wrong?

I dont blame him i'd do the same

Afternoon all, back on the forum after a long stint away

I'd have to agree that there is no way we should pay White 15K. Sure he has great potential, and in that sense it would be a real shame to lose him to another club, but it's right that if we pay 15k there, then Snoddy and Rosco etc will want more than that (rightly so IMO) and it starts a dangerous situation where lots of wages are driven up to keep one player. Also new players coming in would have a new yard stick to be measured against.

The (limited) money that the club has for wages needs to be bringing in quality and depth, which depending on the retained list today, may be substantial. We can't let one player essentially be responsible for upping 4 or 5 wages with money that could have been used to bring in another player.

TBH, I'd do the same too. However £15k pw will blow our wage structure, so he can go. We'll be looking for better for that money.

    Afternoon lads <ok>

Really not that fussed about White. If he wants 15k a week, he knows where the door is.
Although he wasn't as quick, I would've kept Webber over White! At least he had a good touch and a footballing brain. Let's hope Warnock gets the backing he wants.

You would have kept that donkey Webber instead of Aidy White, our only competent left-back?

No wonder Leeds have no ambition these days if even the fans can't see shining potential.

15kpw is obviously too much, but I doubt we're getting the full story there. Shaun Harvey's persuasive skills are non-existent.

At left back he gets bailed out by the fact he's quick. Keep him if we can, he definitely has potential, but for 15k a week? Proven players get you promoted, not potential players. If he thinks he's worth 15k a week he can find it elsewhere <ok>

    Also, I notice Kisnorbo hasn't been released/listed...

He can also tackle relatively well and has a football brain of the level you'd expect in this division, with plenty of years ahead of him. He's not just quick, but even if he were, it's still something we're lacking and shouldn't be dragging through the gutter in public radio announcements.

And who knows how this transfer negotiation with Harvey went. White might have asked for assurances or a promotion clause of 15kpw in the Premier League, and was laughed off. Harvey might never have even tried to persuade him, and just shoved the offer down on the table. Neither of those would surprise me.

There's only so much you can decimate a squad.

I'm not convinced by him at LB, and on the wing he doesn't do it for me...just runs to the byline and then realises he can't cross. He's got a hell of a lot to learn.
See where you're coming from re Harvey though - if it was along those lines it becomes a lot fairer from White's point of view. Just don't think he's worth even half what he's supposedly asked for yet.

About Kisnorbo though, I'd assume Warnock just wants to have a look at him, having been injured the whole time he's been here. As it stands I do believe our only fit centre half is Lees - Warnock definitely has work to do there!

Offer him a good wage for the one season (£9k per week), with a requisite high bonus if we get promoted (£250k) - equivalent of £15k per week but only as long as we are promoted. Warnock gets someone in who can teach him how to be a much better player, and then we sell at the end of the year if it has not happened and make a hefty profit. If he refuses that, then he is not as confident in his ability than we all thought.

Same for Snoddy, same for Ross.

Big bonus for Brown if we make it.

Should have kept Webber. Do think that is a slight mistake, unless he was asking for too big money

Can't really do anything with Kissa as no-one will buy him with him being crocked. Get him earning his wages as a coach to improve our rather rubbish centre backs.

OMG CLAYTONS OFFLeeds United boss Neil Warnock has begun shaping his squad for next season by transfer listing six players and releasing five others. Midfielder Adam Clayton, who made 46 appearances this season, is the most notable of those listed. He is joined by Ramon Nunez, Billy Paynter, Paul Connolly, Andy O'Brien and Paul Rachubka. The club have released Alex Bruce, Lloyd Sam, Mikael Forsell, Danny Webber and Maik Taylor.

Lees better be a backup RB if that's the route NW is going down...also surprised that Thompson is going out on loan, I thought he might have been pushing for a place or at the very least providing some rotation options

Evening Elland <ok> I'm more worried about his overlapping and crossing as a RB than his height at CB
