United have agreed to let midfielder Corry Evans join Hull City permanently in the summer. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...12m-summer-swoop-Blackpools-Charlie-Adam.html It also sounds like a deal for Dennis Eilhoff is fairly likely too: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/9442615.stm
Good news Pearson must rate him highly. Hopefully bring in a few more lads in the summer and give it a go from the off next season. Reading that article Villa have no chance of signing Adams if he didn't go to Liverpool in the January transfer window. Houliier must be foolish if he thinks that'll come off. Complete desperation.
Not sure about Eilhoff. He looks decent but I think he looks a bit dodgy at times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2VISEOLOXc
I'll trust the judgement of NP and team but I wasn't that impressed after seeing you tube vid and I thought I would be as a highlights package isn't going to include any mistakes he makes. He seems to react late to a number of shots and mis-time his movement so he ends up having to make an awkward save rather than a relatively easy one.
He played in the French third division and the Portuguese second division, both of which are ****, he's done nothing with a top flight club in France, nor did he with us(apart from one good game against Bolton). He's not a top flight footballer and Celta Vigo got a right result getting ã2m for him.
I remember seeing him at Chelsea on the opening day of last season, he came on as a sub and looked OK. Then he got that goal against Bolton and looked to have struck up a partnership with Altidore, only for Tango to start playing them on their own. After that they both looked ****ing dire. I hope Ghilas goes.
He was Cannes best player and won the internal goal league as a midfielder He played for Guimares and brought them up to the first division, they finished 3rd in it. He got the award as the best player in divison 2, and once against scored most goals in the internal goal league. Guimares couldnt afford him so Celta Vigo got him. He scored 13 goals in 30 matches, and yeah, guess who won the internal goal league. He was linked to Arsenal, but finally it looked like Blackburn would get him, the negotations did however break down in the final minutes. He came to Hull and impressed in his debut against Bolton. It then took a long time before we got to see him against Man United when he got to jump in instead for Garcia (I think) We were down 1-0 and didnt produce anything, when he came on the offensive started to work properly and we had a couple of decent chances. The last 10 was Rooney time. I just feel that he never got the chance. Of course he will have low self-esteem if he only gets to play with the reserves
I wrote a freaking good chronicle about him for like 1,5 years ago, but the google translation will probably look like sh*t. http://www.svenskafans.com/england/hull/349473.aspx
It's fair enough to claim that Ghilas didn't get enough of an opportunity with us, after the Bolton game he certainly should have remained in the side and things might have turned out differently. My biggest issue with him, is that ahead of this season, we had a new manager, a clean slate and he didn't take that opportunity, in fact he didn't look even remotely interested.
I know you cant, I'm not suggesting he isn't any good if he's managed to impress pearson. What I'm saying he looks to make some pretty dodgy saves based on the clips, often palming the ball out straight in front of him. Also Altidore was not a bad player in a hull shirt. Yes he scored one goal but he still set up 7 and won a couple of pens. And considering we didn't buy him it was hardly a bad signing considering he contributed to at least ten goals.
But you can also put it like this.... He didnt get the opportunity? Either way, I hope he comes back next season and make you all sorry for giving him the "cold hand"
I am actually with Febbos on this one, I always liked Ghilas and I hope he can come back and prove to us that the is good enough to remain with us. However, if he has been lazy in training like Halmosi then by all means get rid but I personally think he can cut it, especially at this level. Still, I trust NP's judgement either way.
