The only "Rumours" that I listen to are produced by Fleetwood Mac. Rednapp for England should be enough to put most,if not all,"rumours" to bed. :laugh
Don't understand the valuation. His career; 2 million pound move - Cardiff > Spurs (rumoured to be worth 4 million with clauses) - didn't go too well 1.75m move - Spurs > Forest - He has been solid but is hardly ripping up trees and has been part of an overpaid squad of players who narrowly avoided relegation. Add in the factor of Forest being in desperate trouble financially, rudderless and with player exodus round the corner... Why would we pay 2 million quid for him?
Agree with Terrorwit. Forest are where they are now because to a large part the players failed to perform - not the tea ladies. Why pay big pounds for players in that predicament. What do we gain. Fire sale situation, fire sale prices.
i'd be happy if i heard we had gunter for a fair price, even if a team failed, does not mean some individuals are not great....
Sorry but i think Gunter is a Donkey ! £2m quid for him is a joke , maybe worth 500k tops . To me he is an example of what is wrong in football, an average footballer who somehow seems to have commanded above average wages/transfer fees!! he has never ever impressed me for spurs, forest or wales, very overated and probably not much better than Jazz richards who isnt even a full back !... He had his chance in the Premier league and got bombed out, Harry redknapp doesnt get too many playing decisions wrong in fairness. Just another overpaid over rated average joe footballer that somehow gets to earn millions by being average, not for us IMO.
Norway makes a fair point ... and on the topic of Jazz, he has never let us down and he's only going to get better at right back or left back. We've never seen him perform in midfield but I'd bet he would hold his own there too. In others, at worst he is decent cover. What we need to bring to the club are players good enough to win a spot in the first team, not players that are going to fight to be on the bench. Add to the top of deck, discard from the bottom, that's how we keep improving as a club, that's how we maximize use of resources. Adding players into the middle / bottom of the deck means we just have to devote resources to getting players up to speed on our system that are never likely to make an impact - why bother.
Yankee - I have said pretty much the same thing on another thread tonight . Players like Jazz have been decent enough and i would rather keep progressing him than bring in somebody that has failed at prem level but on much higher wages
I agree, we need to spend 90 odd % of our budget on getting 4 players "from the top deck" (2 centre-halfs, a Siggy replacement and a striker) but feel, given that we should be letting 3/4 go this summer AND have 2 season long loan slots, we should also be able to afford 4 young players with potential...who will be fighting for places on the bench. I would suggest 3 youngsters who can cover left back, left wing, centre-midfield and a 4th who's either a goalie or an extra centre-half (depending on whether we can get rid of Morreira)
