I especially liked the way it went on about the imminent "spending spree" when Al-Fattim took you over.<laugh>

Yes, according to him Pompey were "minted" as I recall. Presumably, he understood that there was a large hole in the clubs finances. <laugh>

She is probably a Chelski or Citeh fan, or maybe even a Saint...anyone with a bit of money behind them!...it's a pity she didn't stick around long enough to hear the fat lady singing for Pompey's top 2 division's future...That bubbly has gone a little bit flat now!...

I hate the close season as it is usually the time when the Saints and Pompey fans end up spitting the most vile bile at each other as there is no football to talk about.

That alone is a reason why the football season can't start quick enough for me.

But surely, in the closed season we're on the same side. Leather on willow, polite applause as Carberry hits another boundary at the Rosebowl. COME ON HAMPSHIRE!

(apart om meowth that is - the Sussex scoundrel <laugh>)

It could be a tough old season at the Ageas Bowl Dev
Probably not much good cricket to talk about and if we lose to Sussex " Well that's it "

Cricket match special everyone. Although I'm probably making a bigger rod for my own back!

Most Sussex fans are Brighton fans and they have their own forum, (North stand chat) as do Sussex (Official site). Not much fun to be had there.

Sadly Possum, the two sides only meet in the T20 this season, which is good for Hants as it's still their best format at the moment.

Godders is from Berkshire, who are a minor county and cannot be considered as a rival.

    To Sussex anyway;)

The only other thing which I remember about the Fat Lady Sings was that he/she/it confessed to not actually attending Fratton Park. I can't remember whether the reason was financial or not but I guess she was in good company. <whistle>

Sorry, Wooperts. I didn't realise you were French! In English usage, as I'm sure you really know, the Latin "piscine" is a reference to something you are more familiar with.

    pi·scine (p s n , p s n ). adj. Of, relating to, or characteristic of a fish or fishes.

    Hope that makes it clearer:emoticon-0102-bigsm

(Personally I think the French have nailed it with the use of "piscine" for a swimming pool......<whistle>r)

Its all running out of puff isnt it ? Play offs starting tomorrow plenty of needle left in the premier and here we go all chummy discussing cricket - might be time to discuss crowd attendances at the Rose Bowl and wherever the flanelled fools play in that place in our outer Eastern suburb !!!

I used to go to Scumhampton to watch Hampshire in the days of Gordon Greenidge, never really saw much cricket,as the Pompey boys usually ended up rat arsed in the beer tent!<laugh>

Such eloquence - you obviously have nailed the finer things to be achieved in life - your greatest failing is not to mention the name of Barry Richards watching Richards/Greenidge in full flight was a joy - I've lost the plot now I'm talking cricket <doh>
