i agree with you when it comes for a need for a creative midfielder and i think kagawa is a great idea....though sorry about appearing to be a pessimist PISKIE but manu apparenty want him. If true would he really choose us over them. Though if not true great idea!

I think he'd fit into our system better, sitting just behind RVP in the hole. The guy has amazing dribbling skills and I think he'd create bucket loads of chances for our front three

Maybe having another Japanese player (Miyaichi), might encourage him to come to us. I have a feeling that Wenger is looking to get someone like M'Villa, than a pure attacking midfielder like a Goetze or Kagawa. Maybe he thinks it would stifle the development of Wilshere and OXO, who he may think will play in that position? It's just a guess...

You miss the point - if Dempsey can bang in goals for Fulham and lets be honest every season he seems to score goals for a team severely lacking in quality - he'd score lots at Arsenal. We don't have strength in depth up front, Dempsey would help provide that. If we had an injury to RVP or Podolski Dempsey would be an able replacement, of that I have no doubt.

This season, 16 goals, 6 assists - why anyone thinks he will only get worse is beyond me, his stats suggest he is getting better, not worse.

Because he is getting older, I suppose.

You planning on playing Dempsey wide?

He's the same age as RVP so would have a few years left in him. As has been stated though (brushed upon by yourself too) he wouldn't be the answer to all our problems though he would give us something we're severely lacking which is strength in depth. I don't think our problem is a lack of class, I think it's the lack of depth and self belief. Signing strong willed players like Podolski, Vertonghen, M'Vila and Dempsey would bolster the team mentally and physically and send out a clear message that we aren't content to be a champions qualifiers.

Exactly. We've learnt from the likes of Denilson and Vela that technical ability isn't enough, you need it tempered with strong wills and positive influences.

I think he is intelligent enough to play in any of the 3 forward positions - I like his directness and the fact he takes shots outside the box too.

Sure it would, we would concede less goals.
