Yes. Seriously doubt it. I think the FFP will be nothing more than a farce. UEFA won't do anything to stop these clubs from spending big. How do you think Qatar and Russia were awarded the World Cup? More and more sugar daddies are influencing the game. Forget about the sugar daddy clubs. Madrid have spent more than them over the last few years. In fact didn't they spend 200m 3 years back in one window. Madrid and Barcelona are the darlings of UEFA. They won't ever prevent them from spending big. Now the only solution is that even we start spending big and offer wages like other clubs do. This is the only way we will remain competitive especially after Fergie retires. No more reliance on youngsters and academy players. Just spend big on superstars and attract them at the club. Only then we will be able to win trophies even after the great man goes else it won't take long for Post Busby situation to repeat.
Real and Barcelona may well be Uefas darlings but in La Liga there is alot of unrest about the situation with those 2 clubs. Uefa wont have much say in the mater if the other 18 clubs decide its time for a change in spain. In england we dont have that issue so much because money is more evenly and fairly distributed. I really think Uefa have got themselves in a situation where they have to act if any club, big or small tries to flout the rules of FFP. Lets imagine City continue spending like they have when the rules come into play, can you honestly say you wouldnt expect other clubs to put pressure on Uefa to act? Like you say, the clubs have the power, by setting these guidelines as they have with FFP clubs can now use it to their advantage by basically moaning to uefa. Clubs are always moaning about how another breaks rules. The establishment almost always cracks under the pressure. We all know clubs will test the limits, we all know some will be able to do so better than others but we also know club power rules. What benefits one club doesnt benefit all, if one or 2 clubs get a huge advantage by spending massive sums of money they dont earn then if all clubs put pressure on Uefa to act, well that benefits all clubs really doesnt it.
Articles like this are quite amusing from United fans. For years and years United have spent big relative to everyone else because they had the financial muscle to do it. Now with current debts united have had to reign in the spending while other sides like Chelski and City have huge spending power and are doing the same thing United have done for years. Cant believe United fans have the cheek to complain and bleat about it now!!
Keeping average players like Fletcher, Park, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Anderson and Welbeck is what is holding you back! Fergie needs to ditch the loyalty to these clowns and sign proper 'top 4' level talent.
Spot on. We are Manchester United and we should only be looking at the topmost talent in the World and not always go for cheap signings.
The ignorance of rival fans is amazing sometimes. No doubt Man United have at times spent large amounts of money over the years but they have spent from 1992 - 2011 a lot less than the likes of Chelsea, City, Liverpool and only a fraction more than Spurs. But hey why accept the truth when a lie is better.
Exactly. United fans have got the hump cos they aint the big money power anymore. They want everyone to curb their spending now so that they can ride roughshop over everybody again. Hypocrites off the highest order.
Go on, quote me the net spend per season by United compared to Chelsea, City, Liverpool and even Spurs from 1992-2011.
The point I'm making is that you lot don't have the spending power of some clubs anymore and it bothers you. That's why you throw the toys out of the pram. You won't even be the best team in Manchester soon.
As I thought no evidence to back up your claim. United have spent far less than Chelsea, City and Liverpool and only a fraction more per season than Spurs. Hell they've only spent in net teams over £2 million per season more than Villa.
You genuinely are the stupidest thickest most special **** on this site. Calling me deluded. ****tard you are a scouse fan, by definition you are deluded. Everything you say or do is automatically wrong because of it. Just because the FA and Uefa hate your stinking sesspit of a club doesnt mean they hate all clubs. Who doesnt despise Liverpool, its only natural. Now **** off back into your hole like a good little boy. ****ing gimp
We are dealing with some of the stupidest people known to man. People who lack the ability to look beyond hatred. Do you expect anything else?
That's a bit of a distortion of the truth, you have used a date range where in the latter years from 2003 Chelski and now City have spent huge amounts If you take it season by season from 92 United outspent everyone else in the majority of those seasons. You also talk about net spends because certain HUGE sales like Ronaldo make your net spend look more reasonable, but you still blasted everyone's spending power out of the water for most of those seasons, just not the more recent ones. You are now getting a taste of your own medicine and are crying for FFP rules to restrict spending to revenue, which would put united straight back to the top of the pile. Hypocrites!
All you need to know is we ( United ) earned our money either through success or the evenly distributed TV money and a great business plan to market the club globally. We beat everyone else to the punch and built up an empire that in terms of income and value obliterates everyone else. We didnt do it because one sole person piled tonnes of cash on us and made us his toy, we didnt rob a bank or take hostages demanding a ransom. We did what 1000s of businesses world wide do, we floated on the stock market initially and sold our brand. People wanted it, we delivered. Is it our fault the other clubs were to stupid to grasp such a simple idea? No. Today we have an owner that hampers our ability in the market most would say yet here we are, still causing so much pain and hurt for lesser clubs. Its wonderful.
