There's no substitute for match fitness though and that only comes with playing games. I don't think we should expect too much too soon from him.
We'll definitely disagree there. Cesc is not one in a million - he's actually the inferior of the 3 class midfielders at Barca. Great player though. Mark my words on this - Wilshere is a class above.
But all the other players will not have played any competitive matches either. Jack will have been through the same pre season.
I just watched that Wilshere vid and have to say he had a blinder. It was a truly fearless performance. As for Wilshere being better than Fabs, we'll have to wait and see. Wilshere is a very good player but he has a long way to go before coming close to Fabregas. As midfielders go, they are quite different.... Remember, we also have OXO playing for us so Wilshere might not be our best midfielder in coming years. OXO had a very good debut for us and has simular attributes to Wilshere. Hopefully Wilshere gets back to his best next season and we'll see them play together. OXO and Wilshere will be our future central midfield....
I cant say for sure of course, just my prediction that he will be the kingpin for England for a long long time and will finally bring the class to rival and exceed the likes of the Spanish. Some players just seem to stand out and he is one of them. I dont go overboard on players generally, but Wilshere is just class.
I don't care where the lad plays - so long he shoots on site and shows a bit of greedy goal grabbing nous.
I think Song may lose out on his position, due to his change in role (advancing more often). Out of Arteta,Rosicky and himself, he gives the ball away a lot more, and all three have proven they can make decent tackles. Rosicky in fact is probably the best player we have, that tracks and chases back and harries the opponent quickly. If we get him, M'Vila will provide better coverage as a DM than Song, which may therefore have him on the bench but hes a great player to have on the bench. I'm hoping we get after Podolski: Vertonghen, M'Vila and Giroud. Giroud is one of those players who I just think will fit in the Arsenal team. He's much like Chamakh, only built bigger, stronger, faster and has better link up play and finishing. Something I think RVP would really like, and would give us A LOT more Aerial threat
