I can actually only think of Ronaldo, Beckham and Picque that have managed to leave Man Utd without their career taking a massive nosedive. I dont think this is due to anything Man Utd do differently more to do with the fact that alot of the players are not actually that good outside of the 'Man Utd' system.

An example, Why do Carrick and Evans start for Man Utd but are never linked with any other major club??? Even though they have collected countless medals they are still average players who would just not work in any other side.

<doh> Well that's a compliment to SAF then isn't it as he moves players on at the right time. As for Fletcher possibly retiring, I think we will miss him badly for his workrate and his knack of popping up with some important goals.

Just to confirm, these are just rumours at the moment, nothing has been confirmed by the club.

I'm very, very sceptical about this. Expecting it to be a yet another nonsense rumour started by some clown on twitter. Fletch should be back eventually

I read it on the cafe. Fletcher was in the away end last night and some fans asked him about returning next season and he shook his head.

This pic was also posted and i have added "nsfw" tag as the pic is pretty big.

Can see this being true, hes no doubt seen Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen spend years struggling with various problems and he may well of thought better to stop now, spend some time away from the game and come back and be a coach at United or something like that.

Hopefully not but I wouldnt be surprised.

the thing with Fletcher is that its not an injury and i don't like the treatment from the press on Fletcher, you see other players when they get a problem you see the media going on about it but they don't really care about him because he's a united player

I don't go there too often so don't know but could be just that Fletch meant that he won't be fit at the start of next season? Can't see the illness being that bad, he needs more time off football but he'll be back eventually. And is that pic supposed to tell us something, other than that whoever took it has a s****y cellphone? Hardly a big deal, a United player attending a game
