United love our unsung heroes dont we. Shame that when things are going badly its these players who tend to get the brunt of the stick.

The no Anderson, fletcher, gibson aspect is why we need 2 CMs now, a starter and cover. We have done very well in recent years with some realy bad injuries to key players but we need to address the issue now. Doesnt even need to be a superstar, infact I would rather it wasnt. A player who can come in, improve us longer term and short term will be fine. Another to bring some cover and security to the midfield will give us a much stronger platform.

Tiote as the starter would be ideal. Benega as cover or even as the starter would be great aswell. Not saying we need these 2 but just 2 examples of who is out there.

I have given my thoughts on player who keep getting stick. The likes of park will be invaluable if we have say anderson fit all season, carrick and maybe a n other in for fletch.

I like the look of tiote. But then I wanted us to sign Nzogbia who I thought was a better bet than valencia when at wigan and look what happened there <laugh>

TBF though I do think the likes of Nzogbia and even stephen Ireland would have flourished at UTD rather than the obsecurity they seem to be in currently

Some players just dont fit some clubs. Seen it with Keane at Liverpool and both Carroll and Torres for the vast majority of their times at their respective clubs.

Tell you what though, if we sign Tiote in the summer, it will be a big signal to other clubs that we have realised we are weak in our midfield and signing someone we know can do a fantastic job will send the jitters up a few people back. Like I said, doesnt need to be a superstar, we are close to a very very good team, it just needs a few more tweaks/additions.

Frankly we have been in transition for the past few years imo and this is the most successful transition period I remember. The last one for example was awful.

TBH I agree with a lot of what you say. I do think we need to bring in a midfielder and I think a striker is a MUST.

I think waynes performances are getting poorer (by his standards mind so its probably still better than a lot of PL players) and for me he looks knackered doing the whole dual role thing.

I think danny is one for the future and lacks composure in front of goal at the moment, although some of what he gives to the team is not realised on tele

Chicha will become better if the midfield is sorted and he has wayne just behind rather than WAAAAAY behind as sometimes happens with his covering in midfield, but I think he will be the new solksjaer

I honestly wouldnt mind SAF basically saying to roo that he is the new number 9, and even have the likes of nani playing behind him

I think Berba is off so a striker is a cert. I dont expect a £20million+ player though, someone who will bring similar qualities to the team as Berba but maybe a few years younger. Welbeck will become part of a front 2 with Rooney and it will be Hernandez and whoever comes in for Berba making up a front 4. Initially whoever comes in will probably rotate between Welbeck and Hernandez until Fergie feels Danny is ready for the job fulltime. He really likes the kid and I think he believes he will become a star. I would have to agree with him really.

If we get the midfield right everything else will just work. It already does and thats without a world class midfield to drive it. Thats with injuries piled on top of injuries hampering any idea of a settled line up aswell. Its not always pretty but compared to last season we have already outdone out tally so somethings right, it just needs that bit of help from a top class, potentially world class centre midfield.
