Apparently I'd like to see proof of what you claim. Religion would certainly not be a legal excuse to deny someone a certain type of bank account, considering Catholic orphanages closed down because they were going to be forced to give kids to gay couples - and Religion wasn't a valid excuse in the eyes of the law there.
Yeh, that's BS Mick. I can assure you TC that you do not need to prove your religious beliefs in any way to qualify for the account.
If we relaxed our immigration laws then more people from foreign shores could move over and they'll be no need for the money to be sent out of the country.
One thing I will add though why doesn't anybody go mad that they can't have a student account because they don't study?
I make my money on the Isle of Man and send it back to my family in the United Kingdom, I don't keep it over here!
The banks are not doing this out of some sort of altruistic sense of duty to society, they are getting the students into their bank so that when they get out of Uni and become the wealthiest 30% of the population they stick with them.
what like students? Anyway with my account I dont get interest but have to pay the charges including overdraft if I ever got to that This is basically a gimmick to get a group of people using this particular bank I dont know of a single muslim (personally) who hasnt got a bank/building society account
you obviously dont know much about banking in the muslim countries. Its safer to keep it under your pillow I send money back to family and with the whole money laundering legislation its not easy I can tell you. Plus the charges can be astronomical depending upon country Its often easier to give it to a friend or relative who is travelling and even that can be risky at the airport at the other end
Hawala is more about money transfer than banking as we know it today in terms of savings etc In some of the south asian/muslim community there is a thing called a 'committee' that happens all over the country The basics are that say 10 people get together and pay £100 in month/week etc and for a set period of time. so say £100 a month and teh time period is 10 months. Everyone pays into the 'banker' and lots are drawn so in month 1 number 1 gets a grand sand so on for the full 10 months. I have used the system myself and I am aware of one that is £150k going on over 5 years In my 40 years I have only ever heard of 1 guy trying to run off with the cash and he didnt get far
fud. we cant look after our people as it is, no matter what race, religion, sexual orientation etc.......................
