You cant have it both ways,you enter the CL for your previous seasons finishing berth,Utd weren't reigning English champs the season they won their treble. Your rules clearly make their treble tainted.
I dont care (much) how you qualify. I have made this abundantly clear. What I dont respect is when teams dont win it AND their title in the SAME year. United did this in 99 so I accept their win as legitimate. If chelsea win this year and come 4th I will not acknowledge their win as legitimate.
It is a similar argument to the Barcelona one. They are referred to as the best team in Europe if not the world. But others will question how that can be possible when they are eight points behind Real Madrid in La Liga. Of course, they won't be European Champions for much longer either now but I am sure people will still say they are the best side.
