Fans are fickle (I know you've always rated Scott, but look at how people are talking about him now compared to a week ago).

Keep goals out for a game, and people will sing your praises however good, bad, unlucky or in Quinn's case downright £!$$ing awful you've been in the past.

they are indeed. And you're right, though given the choice, i'm sure most would choose Kuszczak over Loach any day! (even me, and i rate Scott Loach). But they'd definitely have Loach over Quinn, surely! lol

The thing is I think we all hoped that giving Scott a rest would help him and not "ruin" him- he was off his form and maybe the enforced absence was just what he needed - how great would it be to have him back at his best and beyond?

If Loach gets and takes a chance to show consistency it would be an extremely close call.

There is an interview with Scott on the Hornet player and he says that while Kuszczak has been at Watford he spent a lot of time helping Scott. He could have ignored him but didn't, and he has found it very helpful. He was feeling proud of his display on Saturday.

Just looked at Burrdas website and Watford are not on it ! Thus I assume they are not our kit sponsor for next season?

Either that or they have taken on an ex-BBC employee.

It is being suggested it will be Puma for next season... so a 'template' kit in our colours then!

Guys.......as you probably know I am not one Scotties fans that's not say that his performance last Saurday wasn't brilliant because it was. But, unfortunately his inconsistancies are the only thing about him that is consistent! At our level in the championship (which is above average) we need a keeper who can put in solid displays game after game after game. This is what Scottie can't do and whilst last Saturdays display was excellent, he needs to do that consistently and not just as a one game in three.
It's interesting what someone wrote saying that TK has been helping Scottie which in my mind brings into question about what exactly Alex Chamberlain has been doing these past years. Perhaps AC should be looking at his coaching technics and wondering why it's gone so wrong with SL.

The thing is I never rated AC as much of a Goalie in the first place, in fact I think he was worse than Tim Sherwood and he was bad enough. But I like SL and his best period was when he came back from being on loan and he grabbed the opportunity to be watford number 1.

I must admit, I have questioned AC's coaching abilities before, seeming SL hasn't really progressed how we had hoped. Maybe TK was exactly what he needed - to be taken out of the firing line for a while as well as training with an experienced international.

I never rated Tim Sherwood as a keeper either, not a bad midfield player though. Steve Sherwood however was not bad in goal :emoticon-0100-smile:

i think we've been saying there's a GK coaching problem for a while...they don't seem to progress...Loach/Gilmartin both seem to have similar problems...

While Scott's performance was fab on Saturday, he did some amazing shot stopping..and that's what he's always been good at...his one mistake was a lack of communication between him and Tiny....when Tiny was begging him to come for the ball and he seemed rooted to the spot. Does that not mean his fundamental problems haven't really gone away, or was the rest of his communication seamless, so that we only noticed the one error...

I know why that is. He has learned all he can from Chamberlain so TK was bought in so that he could teach/mentor him. However, TK was struggling to communicate also. So next we need to bring in a keeper who can shout and boss the defence.

Not sure why Chambo is the fall guy here. Malky Mackay and Sean Dyche were both centre backs who knew how to get their message across. And it actually makes more sense for a centre back to work with a keeper on that: the centre back knows what he wants to hear and say to his keeper, whereas a goalkeeper knows what he wants to say and do/not do.

I see Chambo as the fall guy because it is his job to teach Loach and coach him. After all, he is the goalkeeping coach. In the situation described Tiny was communicating for Loach to come out, so i am inclined to believe that it is a fault with Loach. And therefore he has not been coached to eliminate that fault.

If Loach doesn't perform next season then I can see Bond coming in..he is highly rated and probably due a chance.
