He knew what he was doing. I mustve posted 50 times that his reason for leaving was nothing to do with 'greed'.
Maybe yes, if he knew all along that the Allam's were going to be like this then he might have left for that very reason and if so fair play to him. He's still said some ****ish things though and isn't completely off the hook.
Nigel left because he felt he had unfinished business at Lester and they made him a better offer financially - end of story. He's history - get over it.
I'm not disputing your comments at the time - you've been consistent in your beliefs I grant you. My opinion (and that's all it is) is that NP left Lester because of problems with Mandaric and because he knew the new owners may well want to appoint their own. I NEVER, all the time he was here had the feeling that he was 100 % committed to this club. And that's not saying that he didnt do a good professional job, because he did. But when the chance came to get back to Lester he jumped at it.
I knew Steve Walsh quite well whilst he was here and have had words since he left. Top bloke. At the very start of last season the writing was on the wall for the old management team and it was all to do with how the Allems did business. As early as the Ferriby pre season friendly Walshy and co were muting at how the Allams were awkward as hell to deal with. They wanted out and when the chance came they couldn't get away quick enough. Believe that or don't believe it, that's up to you.
What he said. Ive heard the direct quote "****ing Egyptians" enough times to know where he saw the problem being and as soon as Adam bought FC it meant Nigel was getting out as quick as he could. He just wanted absolutely nothing to do with them.
no, he could save my granny from a burning building and i still wouldnt feel bad about anything i said about him ..
oh yeah, i sound like a kid i work with whos had about 17 days off over the last 10 years for grandma funerals..
I can't say it's changed anything for me - I couldn't stand the guy when he was in charge anyway and it hardly surprised me when he ****ed off back to Leicester.
ha, i exaggerated the number but joking aside, on one occasion another colleague accused him of lying when he said he was going to his wifes grannies funeral, as he knew the lady in question and she was alive, so he said something to the boss and it kicked off a bit...but it turns out it was his wifes adopted grannie or something and she was dead, one of the funniest things ive ever seen when his wife came in to work and shouted at him in front of a shop full of customers and all the staff...
