Yeah, good point Bandit, I thought The Incredible Sulk (affectionate) would've had something to say, but good on him. As for Sparky, I hope he toils in the Championship next season. If he resigns when/if they get relegated he'll surely never get a job in England again. And as for the QPR fans, Captain, give them their dues - we've not heard a peep from them on here since we humiliated them 6-0
Hughes cannot walk away from QPR, it's as simple as that. He will stay with them regardless of what league they're in next season. If he walks then like you say, he will not get another job in England. No Chairman would be able to trust him. QPR have a blank chequebook to throw around so if they are relegated then sadly I expect they will come straight back up at the first time of asking. Hughes, despite my opinions on him personally, is not a bad manager and would do very well in the Championship.
The indiscipline looks to have been costly but until Bolton have played Spurs on Wednesday we won't have a clear picture of what will happen and who will go down. I think if Bolton win, they are safe or as good as. It's a proven fact though that playing Chelsea in either the first two or last two months of a season is never a good time.
There has been some indiscipline but plenty of the red cards we've had this season have been very poor or at least inconsistent refereeing that would never be applied to bigger sides. Could you imagine a United, Chelsea or Arsenal player getting a second yellow for tapping the ball away, or a referee guessing one of their players had headbutted an opponent purely based on the player's reputation? Over the course of the season we've been poor but plenty of points have been pissed away through stupidity and dire refereeing. Zamora's done quite well imo. He was never going to be a great goalscorer but he puts a good shift in and leads the line very well against the better sides in particular.
rangers can still get out of it, if they go down, as a team ever been relegated who have beaten, afc, cfc, lfc, thfc and the biggest scalp swansea-barca, surely not
I remember Blackpool having a right good go at the top teams and beating a few of them, but like QPR they came unstuck against the smaller teams who they ought to have been beating.
Very true, Bidley. But they had been so annoying leading up to that, and in the year or two before they won promotion. It's a shame because I never used to have any problem with QPR - quite liked them, in fact - but now I dislike them quite strongly. Not as much as Chelsea, but in the circumstances I was hoping for a Chelsea win at the weekend. If they do stay up, I think they'll do all right next season. That's one of the reasons I want them to go down.
I agree with you on Zamora, Watford_R. For what it's worth, you don't seem to be one of the irritating QPR fans I refer to elsewhere. I'm sorry that some of your compatriots have turned me against your team.
I'm not so sure. I want them to go down because I think they would be a much better team next season with a summer to strengthen. But saying that, they do need to strengthen an awful lot, they have problems all over the pitch, from goalkeeper to striker.
That's quite alright. I've never seen Fulham as a rival and was too young to remember the game in your promotion season. I wouldn't be too influenced by a small number of people on one of the lesser used messageboards. If you want to real the views of the real ****s then go on wearetherangersboys. Like any fanbase there are bound to be a few mongs- Cottage Corner is the same. Events of the last week or so make relegation highly probable but I like Fulham as an away day- good selection of pubs, not in the Midlands etc.
True. I can't get enough of the Selly Oak locals even if they only wash monthly. If there's a hell, I imagine it being something like an everlasting afternoon in Coventry.
I've not a bad word to say about Selly Oak. Almost every shop nowadays is selling fast food or alcohol and there's a William Hill on the way to and from uni. Absolute paradise until you have to talk to someone. Digbeth has a very underground club scene. If you want to get off your face on ecstasy and wake up next to an English Literature student, I suggest Custard Factory.
