Newcastle will beat City, whose away form is still suspect.

But even if we win the league, changes are needed if we want to win anything next season

Why do I have this sudden feeling City will **** it up?

My mind keeps telling me they are ****ting themselves, not because they are scared but because they are so excited they may well have a lapse in concentration.

The more I think about it the better I feel.

United - No Vidic, Fletcher for most of the season. No Young, Valencia or Welbeck starting last night, 3 CM over 30. City beat a weak United and only thanks to a single lapse of concentration.

Imagine we played City last night with no Kompany, Yaya, Silva, Tevez, Nasri.

Fergie got it wrong, City expected us to play as we did and we should of started off all guns blazing. Had we scored when we were the better team we would be all sat here now just a point away from the title but as is getting more and more often the case, we seem to get it wrong at the vital time. Nothing against the god that is Fergie but he doesnt need to be so cautious. We have one hell of an attack, use the bloody thing!

We have done amazingly well this season considering imo, to be level on points with City at this stage speaks volumes, nobody expected it. We shall be there again next season, and the next and the next.

Exactly, we werent even set up to counter properly. Nani has not long since returned from an injury and Parks barely kicked a ball in months. Rooney was a lonely figure last night.

Oh.....and it may cheer some of you up to learn that against the rest of the League, United......we are way better than City. We are level on points and they have taken 6 off us. If City expect to win titles every year they really want to start getting points of other teams as you cant always be certain of beating your rivals.

Also why drop Welbeck after the lad had a good game against Everton? Let the City defence which lets face it bar Kompany and Hart are not that good; worry about Danny.

    self righteous...bullying/disagreeing whats the diffrence?

ok im not even going to bother breaking that one down when half of you troll him like a bad smell and get personal..but if you was genuine you would disagree and pissoff..and by trying to call me self righteous wont make me cringe at your attempt to shut me up...but yeah not going to explain the diffrence in detail..as i dont think youll understand <ok>

what i said was true ..after years of success alot of you were giving up last night having a semi meltdown..apart frm Matt..if you dont like what i said then ignore it .

if someone tells you your wrong it does not mean they are self righteous, means you could be wrong.<ok>

Looks like he's going to miss the rest of the season, he left last night with a protective boot on and is a doubt for euro 2012.

Biggest issue we had IMO was our midfield, we had 3 in the middle of the park and not one of them would be classed as a defensive midfielder, if we had Fletcher instead of Park in the midfield 3 we would have had a bigger impact on the counter because we would have more opportunities to counter. Also why play Giggs out wide in a line up that was set up to counter attack? We needed either young or Valencia to provide pace. I would have rather seen Fabio out left than Giggs in the line up.

Dona, it's not giving up, it's realism.

There is literally nothing that we can do on an internet forum, saying we're still going to win like Daffy makes **** all difference.Th e reason we're saying it's over is based on ours and City's performances over the last couple of weeks, they've become potent again, we've become quite the opposite. It wasn't really even last night when the penny dropped, it was against Everton when I just knew chucking away that lead would cost us, it's obvious. We can't possibly win it every bloody year and a lot of us have just accepted that City, deservingly, will win it this.

That all said, there IS still hope, you never know. Mancini is doing a good job of doing Swansea and Sunderland's team talks for them but he's right in that neither has anything to play for and both Newcastle and QPR do. Having seen their matches against Wigan and Chelsea though you wouldn't think it so that's another reason for us not to be blindly optimistic.
I can actually see us giving Swansea a hiding while City draw at the toon then them beating QPR and us not beating Sunderland, losing on away goals anyway.

Coming on here chanting we'll still win has an element of insanity, not faith.

cmon man...i understand the disapointment of throwing away an 8 point lead and i respect the fact that you are being realist. No doubt the odds are stacked against you...im not even a United fan..but i always defend Fergie as he is by far the greatest manager i have seen in my lifetime......and if anyone can,Fergie can.....hes been here before and come out on top...theres alot of twists and turns to come and with Newcastle wanting 4th spot and having a good record at home..it is one of the worst away fixtures to be playing at this time if the season.

Fans are fans and dislike failure...but try being a fan of any other team and you would realise how good you got it.

I know how good I've got it mate, I'm old enought to have been going to OT during Big Ron's and Fergie's early years, I've seen some comical **** in my time.

I agree, Fergie is the best manager ever. Man manager that is. He is on occasion tactically inept though and last night was one of those occasions. The big trouble being that this now takes it out of his hands as otherwise i'm sure he could rev the team up again and ensure we win both games. It might not be enough though, eh?

I also know only too well how City have a habit of ****ing things up so fingers crossed!

Newcastle have to be still in the hunt for 4th after the chelsea game when Spurs play their too. If they're 5 ponts behind with 2 games left that may just end their season for them being happy with 5th or 6th, Spurs have a handy run in so it does not look likely but if spurs lose and newcastle win, they will be a different prospect for City.

Just happy there are more title affecting games left<ok>

Gibson did us a favour earlier in the season. Maybe Obertan will score past City as well

To be honest City deserve to win the title. I think it will be a travesty if they didn't. Most of the damage they incurred were self inflicted. If they had the team they currently have for the whole season, they will have had a record number of points: well over 100 points.

I cannot see Newcastle as good as they are currently giving them any trouble. The quartet of Tevez, aguero, Silva and Toure were simply unstoppable.

For me to say the league is finished is not being unduly pessimistic. It is realistic and I wouldn't want the fortuitous winning of the tile to paper the massive cracks we have in our midfield. That Scholes came back and became our best midfield player showed it all.

Ferguson is the greatest manager the league has ever known. He will recognise that his players came well short of the highest standards. Europe and the cups showed us how fragile our team was.

Time to take stock and rebuild.
