http://www.football365.com/news/21554/7718853/Report-Hughton-on-Baggies-radar West Brom will waste little time in seeking a replacement for Roy Hodgson, with Birmingham boss Chris Hughton high on their list of targets. It is believed the Baggies are also considering former coach Michael Appleton - now manager at Portsmouth - and Bristol City boss and former Albion midfielder Derek McInnes.
Cant see it happening as he is still unproven in English football. Maybe if he had been manager for another 12 months then maybe. The only thing that would favour him is being an ex player.
I highly doubt this, McInnes has business to do here first, and you cant tell he wants to be with us just through the interviews alone, we are his project, he wont leave it after reading the instructions
I wouldn't be so sure Shiny. If he was reading the various fans forums around Feb time, I'm sure he doesn't feel valued at all, if i was him I would move on without a second thought.
If he was offered the job I think he would take it as who would turn down managing in the premier league with a team who aren't too bad and a team he once played for as a player. You would also have to look at the point that next season City are going to have to be a lot tighter on what we spent as our debt is rising every season which might mean that he will need to have a plan B up his sleave. And as for fan power of what they have or haven't said. Most Football fans are fickle, if your team is winning the manager is a legend and a tatical genius and if your team cant find a win he is the worse manager the club has every had and should be sacked. Yes there were some fans calling for him to be sacked weeks after he was appointed who now love him because of our unbeaten run. The way I have always seen it is all manager needs a full season (with a pre season) to see what they can do before anyone can judge them. Maybe if it wasn't for the fans, Wolves would not have sacked Mick McCarthy who at the time Wolves were not in the bottom 3 who now have been relegated. Maybe if McCarthy had stayed there they may be currently fighting to stay up rather than already relegated. But as long as fans are paying over the odds to watch 22 men kick a football, who are paid more a week than a fan get a year in their job then fans are intitled to their opinions.
Cant have it both ways. If your entitled to your opinion, he's entitled to go work for whoever he chooses. And I fear he will..
I have been a pessimist all my life and news that Hodgson will be the next England manager, gives me the jitters as I have a sinking feeling that Albion will be calling for McInnes and if they do, he will go. He is the best thing that has happened to our club in twenty years and it could be all over before it's begun. I hope not!
He's hardly come to terms with championship football let alone Premiership.........I wouldn't have any worries there......He will be here next season. As to feeling valued, surely that's something you earn... We will see his value, first 10 games of the season!
No doubt you are right Onefor. But surely he has earned our respect for keeping us in the Championship.
No, not 10 games.. Till end of December minimum and then things would be have to be very bad for me to even consider that. I really do not want to be a throw away manager club we have had enough disruption lately, he has earned the right to make and follow through the changes he makes, with a bit of time for fruition. I know you're not keen onefor but by your very words he has done the job he was given to do, despite your misgivings. Time to give the guy some respect and support..
it will definatly be an improvement from this year.. just hope we don't have a whole to with the surname starting with "mc"
Nah, why would a decent team be looking at a fourth division failure.. Even though he would jump at the chance to get out of the dirtiest, smelliest ****hole in football (actually you can include all north Bristol in that)
