Well its promised much at times, but ultimately this season has ended a dud. While not over technically, our challenge is dead in the water. We didn't compete today at all and you have to say City deserve it. As they have in every game we've played them in this year since the community shield. So congratulations to them, but for us where has it all gone wrong? What concerns me most of all is the manner in which we've lost our lead. Throughout the whole campaign use of words like "experience", "been here before" , etc. Have been rifle in every argument in our favour. Yet against in game like the everton one we've looked complacent. We havent played well at all in the crucial stretch similarly in the cups and in europe, where the pressure is on and you know every game is a decider, we just haven't delivered. Who would have thought that in the end our mentality would be what let us down.
What hurts the most is our fight and passion. No heart at all, nobody even got angry, I hate to see my team do that, even in the 80's when were **** and only winning a cup the odd t ime every few years we had more heart, I would rather be **** and have spirit
WTF has that got to do with it you tool. It doesnt matter who the captain is the players we have are ****ing lightweights. Im not a pro, but i would ****ing crush carrick in a tackle, pathetic, I wouldnt be scared physically against our team, which is something we have ALWAYS had
Maybe if we had someone on the pitch to shout at them Keano style it would help. Maybe Rooney? im not sure him calming down recently is a good thing.
THAT The **** is trying to be a role model, he wants to be liked by not getting booked, scouse ****. If he was playing for everton against liverpool tonight instead of us, he would have scored and got sent off
TBH it doesn't really hurt as I don't think we deserved to be here in all honesty. We lost it against Everton. This is not a classic Man Utd squad. At 75-80 min I knew it was over.
Evra was tooooo tired, he completely needs rest and time of football, for his sake i hope he doesn't play in the Euro's
I've managed to recover enough from the depression of last night's performance to make a comment It was a poor game, but it was a game that magnified all of our weaknesses. Toure and Barry pretty much had our midfielders in their pockets. Zabaleta kept Nani quiet, I never noticed Park until he was subbed. Rooney was never in the game but I can't fault him as he never got any service. The forward players from both teams, in general, had an off night but Nasri was the liveliest, which just goes to show how poor Evra was. He needs to be replaced. In the end, Chris Smalling's error has swung the title back in City's direction, but Fergie's tactics were awful. I know we only needed a point, but there was never any threat about our team, as shown by our 0 shots on target. I know why he picked Park but ultimately he didn't deliver as he hadn't played in a while. There was no counterattacking edge to our team and as a result Rooney couldn't get any Service. You can't expect a team that sets out to play for a point to suddenly get into a Rhythm of great attacking football and it showed yesterday. We never strung together an attacking move of any quality - there was always a misplaced pass or an overhit cross, and this was because we couldn't shift out of the rhythm that SAF set out to start the match with. Awful from SAF
sorry mate disagree with a few things Park basically hasnt played for ages and it showed, given games park would still be a decent player. Just look at carrick and evans to see what a run of games does for a player Smalling same as above. That header would have been bread and butter for him had he had a few games prior and not been a lat minute evans replacement Finally you can defend rooney as much as you like but (and despite the goals) he has been poor generally and last night showed how poor he actually is. no control, constantly loses the ball, no pace and no positioning. Now this may be due to him being used mainly as a midfielder cum striker or being unfit, but he offered nothing He was more concerned about griping and swearing at the ref than actually pulling something out of the hat. We need a striker desperately
I agree in part about the Park comment. To me it shows SAF in an even more incredible light. Why play a guy who hasn't featured in so long when he should have known his match fitness was suspect and his touch. Quite confusing.
TBH, and this makes it sound like I know better which is ludicrous but I think th emain reason we have been **** in parts this season has been missed even by the great man himself Basically we have always played better in the second half of the season, and usually we are in all comps and every one is getting games so in the advent of injuries someon stepping up hasnt had to 'adjust' Players like park play in the league/fa cup type games and keep their timing etc and then when called to do a defensive job (see some of our CL games) come in do a job Think SAF followed that formula but based on training rather than match time and it failed look at everything we traditionally do, keep a lead (failed), pressure in the end (failed) step up in the latter stages (failed). In fact I almost laugh now when the commentators say 'never write off UTD' etc. These things that are so 'US' havent been and I personally wish we had taken EL seriously and kept our 'eye in' as they say in cricket Even players like Berba may have been called in IF they had proven themselves in the 'minor' comps. I genuinely believe roo has been struggling and despite how it may come across I dont dislike the man and see how a performing roo is vital for us. But he has become 'forced' on us this season as the other options have no game time and cannot be 'tried out' with the season being on tenter hooks. Maybe he just needed a rest?
who would it be though is the question? I will get stick for this but the guys who show the most passion on the pitch are the likes of Rafael and Jones. The only other person who I notice goes unnoticed but is always giving instruction is Smalling Would these guys be accepted by the older heads? I would actually like to try carrick as I think the responsibility would get even more out of him, although it would be a gamble as he comes across fairly quiet
