If Rick hadn't been such a bumbling ****wit Man City would've been without 5 of tonights starting line up. Aguero, Tevez, Silva, Barry, all wanted by Rafa at some stage. Woy wanted Clichy.

Fair play Rick <ok> if you listened to the managers and got the finger out Man U would be heading for number 20.

If we'd bought them we'd be winning it.

one thing is to have them, another is to motivate them to full potential. our squad of 08/09 had all the talent to win the league.

I believe we would have won it the following season had the team stayed the same. But that's football I suppose!

P.S Rick Parry was completely useless. Failed to secure targets, didn't capitalise on the club's brand from a commercial perspective, and just a prick in general.

You can also add Dani Alvez and one Cristano Ronaldo to the mix, chuck in Parry recommending Hicks & Gillett without doing due diligence in return for a golden handshake and a cast iron position on the board. Agent Parry was a greedy grade a, self serving prick.

Rick Parry used virtually an entire transfer budget up on Robbie Keane. I personally blame Alonso leaving and not replacing/ keeping Keane for our down fall.

I'm pretty sure Rafa wanted to sign James Milner, and considered Kompany before choosing Skrtel instead (cant complain there), even Richards was linked with us.

Rafa wanted Gareth Barry to fill our problem spot at left back/left midfield. Parry wouldn't sanction the deal as he felt he was too much money for his age. Then two weeks later signed Keane, who's the same age as Barry for the same transfer fee as was wanted for Barry as well. Keane was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, as Liverpool's set up didn't allow for a player of his style. Well done Agent Rick<doh>

Remember that farce after we won the CL where Stevie G handed in a transfer request cos Parry didn't start contract negotiations? I lost sleep then I can tell you.

    Absolute twat.

    here is my HONEST opinion.

    1. i agree with the sentiment that we could have gotten both silva and mata potentially for a LOT less than we wasted on keane and aquilani.

    2. I think aguero was not possible due to having torres. we had one we didn't need the other. it is moot about january and buying carroll cos at that point no way would aguero have come.

    3. I don't only blame parry.... you can add a bit of rafa and a lot of g&H to that list.

    4. tevez = no thanks, he's a muppet.

    5. barry is not that good lads, i for one was glad we missed him and only wish we'd not pissed alonso off.

Just think on rafa having torres, gerrard, silva and mata rather than the likes of reiria, kuyt, keane, aquilani. I agree with the over all sentiment that had we the BALLS to go buy the player we'd have been better off "for a while" but G&H would only have sold them all... scum... Right now all i can say is this.

Players come and go and we've the chance to buy the next guys along now. There will be btter than silva and tevez along no problem... finding a new alonso is very hard though

Hmmm, in the five years he spent with us, how many outstanding seasons did he have?

  14. Two, the first and last. The penultimate season he was poor, hence Rafa looking to off load him and get Barry in, we would have had a bit of money to spend in another area too from these dealings. IMO,this gave Alonso the kick up the arse he needed that gave us that superb final year.

Party told the media he was a Liverpool fan. He sold the club, he sold his soul, he is a grade A prick as was David Moores. We would have silva, villa, mata on our books for sure had Dubai Investment corporation been given the club.

Dubai Internation Corporation = DIC, reminded of Del Boy's Trotters International Traders (T.I.T) and the plonkers Diploma In Computing.

Rick Parry showed plenty of commercial acumen in his roles as chied exec of the premier league when it first started.

The real problem with G&H take over was David Moores - he wouldn't sell it to Steve Morgan (a committed fan), and has said that he regrest selling to G&H. The irony is you almost made it under G&H and Raf, and were unlucky to miss out on the league. Somehow that near miss had a nagative effect and instead of building on it it seemed to mark a watershed moment.

Right now it just seems like everyone at the club has resigned themselves to a season to forget. But to me this is a bad sign. Players should be showing that they care and want to stay. If Kenny can tunr this around next season he will have done something remarkable. But how will he do it? Surely not with the same core group of players. They need a lift and need to sign big players. It'll be intriguing.
