Why can't people support their local club? Why does nationality matter? In the old days you couldn't go to football matches unless you were White British. I quite like the fact I am able to go football matches and my nationality etc is irrelevant, Blue is Blue.

Chelsea as a club are unrecognisable from the old Chelsea, same happens with every club after you have success. It's happened to Fulham and will happen to QPR after a few sustained seasons of PL football. It's happening to City now.

Older fans are dying out and newer ones coming through. I think the difference is supporting a club like Palace, QPR, Charlton etc is a lot different because they are community clubs, therefore the supporters tend to have stronger ties to the club whether it be geographical or through family.
